Since I'm going classical...
I also needed a couple of sharp hand tools.
Thank God for the venerable elderly, and their estate sales.
These were horrible... needed work.
They're still not real pretty, but serviceable.
My buddy has this cool sharpening rig. Spinning glass plates with sticky abrasive.
It works decent (not fabulous) ... but it's quick.
So, for this boards geometrical redux...
I need to create an "offset hyperbolic paraboloid"...

Level and true a compound radius fingerboard
But.. to correct the issue, it also needs a significant pitch from heel to nut.
This complex compound rad / pitch, seemed like a fairly daunting task at first, but then I remembered...

First I ran a regular 12" rad on my rad jig.... all the way up the board, which was as yet, un-wedged.
Just to take off some meat, and give myself a starting point.
Here's a shot of my rad sled jig... as I was cleaning up. (Sans router).... (I forgot a WIP pic sorry)
Then at the nut, I filed it down to the desired thickness, and radiused that down to...
When all said, done and coated.... (yes coated)...it will likely end up around 10" at the nut to about 13 at the heel.
Chalked it up... and planed it down.
Generally following the string paths.
Which was easier to do accurately with my leveling beam... once I got close with the hand plane.
Once glued up it will be sanded again... but she's real close here.
It's still going to be a very playable bass. Just with slightly a chunky neck situation at the upper register.... (slightly)... most of the correction happened at the nut end. The original board was already fairly thick.
But yeah.. here's the big end.
