I've just ordered one of these from the third batch, based purely on the videos posted and the reviews here on TB. Am super excited, though it might take a while to ship from Japan to the UK. For those Bananana owners out there, how well do you find the pedal tracks in comparison to other bass synths?
I would say better than average.
This pedal looks like it would be a blast to play around with. I’d probably never use it in real life though.
Of course a Prunes&Custard and a Danelectro Black (T)offee Distortion... (ok, cheated a bit on that one...)

My brandnew Matrioshka got all the way from Japan to Germany in only one week. Gotta pick it up from the customs tomorrow. Can't wait to plug it in!
Hello, I am contemplating my first foray into synth pedals and the Bananana has caught my eye. I realize it doesn't have programmed presets, but does the manual? is this the best on the market? Do I need an envelope filter if I buy one?Thanks!

Just got mine in the mail and spent a couple hours with it. It is pretty sweet for what it is. I wish the mode selector clicked or something so you had some feedback about where you were. But really I think that is about it for criticism.
I think you do. If you want wetter, cleaner , or quackier filter sounds you should probably get a separate filter. This filter kind of has it's own thing going for it to my ears.

I think it won't work with an envelope filter. If you put the synth pedal (doesn't matter which one) before the envelope filter, the filter will produce a fixed or static filter because the synth signal has basically no envelope. If you put the envelope filter before the synth pedal you won't hear the filter anymore because the synth pedal converts only the incoming pitch and no sound characteristics in a new digital waveform.
It works great with my Moof LPF, Joshwah, and MicroTron. Won't necessarily give you a crazy bass quack depending on what setting you use on the Bananana, but it will work quite nicely.
How well does this track on a 5 string? I play BEAD on my 4 so want to make sure it will work the B string notes!

I don't have a wonderlove to test it with anymore unfortunately. My guess is that it will sound good, as long as you set the sensitivity properly.
Certain patches work better than other with the low B. And then you have to tweak to your preferred settings. I find each bass responding very different, so it’s a very personal process to find what you like and totally worth it when you find it. Just write your settings down!
