Barefaced 69'er thread

Mine became my to-go cab.

I've compared it to my old Trace 2x15.

First impressions:

- Quieter than the 2x15... The 69'er is a sealed cab and is not going to win any loudness wars against big, ported designs.

- brighter than the 2x15... Luckily, it's bright in a good way. The 69'er has lots of definition for a cab with no tweeter.

- Very good dispersion! I was really curious if I'd notice the difference. Well, I did!

- MUCH lighter than the 2x15. You can lift this one with one hand using the top handle (it takes some effort though). I can carry it down a narrow stairway all by myself.

Will it put out as much volume as the trace 2x15 but, just less sensitive, so you have to turn your amp up alittle louder? Those old trace cabs sound pretty good. Im wondering how much the 69'er can really put out for volume with a big amp. I really wish someone could compare it tone and output wise to an nv610 and 810e. My guess is, it will be smoother and more polite sounding in the mids than the nv610 and not go as low, but will be clearer and of course weigh less. It probably has much better mids and top than the 810e. Looks like some alpha 10a woofers and a copperhead 10". Thats just a guess though. There isn't much to go on with this cab yet. Looks good though. Well thought out. Too bad there wasn't a distributer in the US.

I have to turn the volume up about 10% compared to the old Trace 2x15 at the same gig. When coupled with my 100 watt tube amp it is loud enough for my shoegazy band though.

I'm not good at talking tone, but I really like the mids and highs (For the reference: I don't like tweeters). It is less present in the lows than the 2x15, but what isn't :p?

I got my 69'er last week.

I couldn't be happier with it.

Right now I'm playing a Garnet Rebel head through it, not super loud but very gritty and man does this cab pair great with it.

I tried a v4-b reissue through it as well. The amp isn't my cup of tea - not enough distortion - but for clean sounds it was great. I'm taking the amp back to L&M (unless someone has a trade?)

It's at my jam spot right now, I'm playing a show with it tomorrow, after that I'll get it home and post pics.

This thing is feather light, but is as loud as my 610HLF and sounds just as good.

You can justify it by replacing something that is much heavier, haha.

Man, getting soundclips of this things is getting to be like finding bigfoot.

I've recorded with mine, both on a P Bass and a W&T Ergon 5
I don't have the separate tracks, only the whole band mix. Let me know if you want to have a listen and I'll send you soundcloud links
Here's a pic of the setup when recording
