Man, what can't that guy do?

He is nowhere near as good as Bernie Williams on bass or Bronson Arroyo on g**tar.

We had to give a lot for him in Hanley Ramirez and Anibal Sanchez; but I'd do the deal again in heartbeat. Actually, taking on Mike Lowell's salary in the same deal worked out pretty well, too.

That is one of the hidden benefits of a good farm system, even if you are only adding 1 or 2 guys a year to your own roster, you can use other prospects to trade for front line starters.

Tigers just won number 7 (in a row), all on the road.

There the best hitting team in the game (.296) team average and have almost fifty more extra base hits then the next closest team. Now the starting pitching is coming together. Miller, the rookie, hasn't given up three rune in any of his first four starts. The Rotation is now Verlander, Rogers, Bonderman, Miller and Robertson. Zumiya is rumored to be recovering faster then expected. If their pitching reaches anywhere close to last year, look out.

Exactly why I'm glad we didn't pay him that much. The guy makes $800K+ per start!! No thanks.

Besides, Roy Oswalt is one of the most underrated, underappreciated pitchers in the game. I'll take him any day over today's Roger.

Being a Pirates fan in general is like being lost in the desert. Being a Pirates fan this year is like realizing that you've walked a tremendous circle in that desert over the last 15 years, and now you're right back where you started.

The fiance and I went to the Red Sox vs. Mariners series on Monday, Tues, and Wed.

Seeing your team get swept at someone else's stadiuim is salt on the wound. No fun at all. Damn Red Sox.

Wednesday's game was really good, would have been great had the Red Sox won. But we did get to see Dice K and Papelbon pitch beautifully.

C'est la vie...in July we'll be seeing them @ Fenway

The Mets took both ends of a double-header and stretched their lead a little bit today. Considering that the Phils are trotting out two rookie pitchers this weekend, I'm smelling a four game sweep on the road. That would be sweet!

Just watched a very exciting 9th in the Braves @ Marlins. This young Escobar kid the Braves have is so much fun to watch, and I'm excited to see Saltalamacchia doing well. He gave our local AA team fits for the past two years or so while he was with the Mississippi Braves.

good article about bonds prior to steroids. it is unffortunate about the steroid possibility, he was one fo the greatest players of all time without them.

That was a tough series, June ended up being a strange month - the offense sputtered and the team was a game under .500. But they maintained their lead. Hopefully the bats will get hot by the time you get to see them at Fenway.

Another fine pitching outing wasted today - Tavares gives up 2 runs and the bullpen holds that for 4 innings, but the Sox could put only 1 run on the board.

The only recent bright spot is that Manny Delcarmen is pitching well out of the pen.
