Bass equipment + Compact car = Headache

Last night in my 2013 WRX Hatch:

Two basses in double case
Bergantino CN112
2-QSC k12s
18x13 pedalboard in hard case
4 drawer tool box
Rubbermaid container with cords and cables
Aguilar TH500
2 Stands for the K12s

It was packed, but it worked!!

97 Honda Civic, 2xGK MB 115s, 1 bass in a soft case and my gear bag in the trunk, back up bass in hard case in the back seat.... can pick up the guitarist, 2 guitars, Marshall combo and pedal bag if necessary...... meanwhile, the 17 year old son borrows Mama's station wagon to load his "gotta have it" Ampeg 810 freezer.

I kept my logistical needs in mind when I bought my Honda Fit. Tons of room with the back seats folded down and the front passanger seat folded back. 4x10 cab, 15" cab, Head, Pedal Board, two guitar stands, and two basses in hard cases get in and out of there with no problem. Plenty of room left over...and kickass MPG.

"I hope you've got a big trunk, 'cause I'm puttin' mah bike in it!" LOL

Hatchbacks with the seats down will fit a ton.

I bought a 2011 Scion tC as a direct replacement for my Toyota Celica, and I can haul a BUNCH of stuff. Without passengers and seats folded down... the 1x12 sub box for the car stereo, both my Avatar cabs (B210/B212), Shuttle 6, my '74 V4B, pedalboard, two basses (iGig double gig bag), keyboard, miscellaneous debris like music/guitar stands, extension cord, etc. and still had some room left over in the back. I probably could've shifted my iGig back there if I tried, but I didn't feel like bumming the drummer a ride. Lol

Tetris!

P.S. I haul more (bass) gear in my Scion on a weekly basis than my roommate does all year in her biga$$ Ford F-150. Lol

5sg.

450 watt amp, with tons and tons of room to spare, not including the fact I have 50/50 split fold seats.

ive got a 94 celica gt hatchback that i fit a bunch of gear in. either a 4x10 or two 2x10s, non-micro bass head, two basses in hard cases, two all tube guitar heads, several mic stands, pedal board case (holds all the pedals and needed cables/extensions for my rig as well), and thats all in the back!:bassist:

Add me to the list of Subaru owners. Got an older Forrester. Traction? Fuggeddaboudit! (We get slippery conditions often in the winter, and this is hill country.) Plenty of load space.

Hey, a serious suggestion for the OP or anybody else wondering about using a compact rig for gigging. There are a bunch of "super 12" cabs (HT: KJung for the term) available lately. Check out the Baer ML112, the Glasstone Li'l G, the XSonics ...whatever the model name is, the Thunderchild variants, and (of course) the Greenboy fEarful/fEarless designs.

I own a pair of Baers and a pair of Glasstones, and they are serious cabs for gigging.

My Berg CN212 fits great in the trunk of my WRX.

Celicas for the win, right?! My baby was a liftback as well, but a '97. I was constantly amazed at the amount of gear I could fit in that car, for a 2-door sport coupe. That's why I bought the Scion. The Celica was exactly what ai wanted/needed, and the tC is the direct replacement for it. :bassist:

I take a 115 reflex cab, a s/s amp, my Hiwatt valve amp, two basses in hard cases plus a box of leads mic's etc, in my BMW 328 2 door Coupe with room left for a passenger.

Our drummer moves all his kit, minus his full size BD in a Porsche Boxster.
