Bass equipment + Compact car = Headache

With the lightened and downsized gear available it may not be necessary to carry bigger gear. I can do any gig I have in either my 99 Miata, BMW Z3 Coupe or Honda Element. The Miata easily holds my double gigbag along with amps and a change of clothes in the trunk. Cab up front. I can carry everything in the back of the Coupe but usually just put the double bag up front. The Element seems like it was designed for a bassist... it's even the perfect width for hardshell cases.

It comes down to what I feel like driving. I prefer the BMW when driving out of town. When a friend and I drove to the Bass Expo we had six or seven basses and several rigs in the Element with room to spare.
