Realizing that you can build, or rather "assemble" a Bass with quality parts EXACTLY they way you want it, and have it sound absolutely wonderful when it's all done, and then being stoked about doing your next buildView attachment 984639

That bass is completely built of things I would never consider and it is truly unique and beautiful. Congrats.

And I know the feeling having built my main gigster last year and now planning another.

Indeed fresh strings does do wonders for your tone.

Love the metallic kind of tone you get from fresh strings, so full and rich with overtones.

Personally what I am most thrilled about at the moment though, bass wise, is the new EMG Geezer Butler pickups that I swapped the stock ones on my Ibanex Mikro with.

Really makes a huge difference in overall clarity and definition of my tone, as well as amount of punch I can get out of it.

Finding a groove that is magic when you don't really expect it. - like just noodling, then the drummer hears something he likes out of it and puts a great beat with it. And then if your really lucky the guitar player will chime in... that's the bomb right there folks!
