I was just about to buy a UB99... is the Bass MS going to have the crazy multitap delays and assloads of reverb that the UB99 does? I'm mainly interested in that end of it's capabilities, but a "free" ringmod wouldn't hurt me, and I'm sure a billion patches could come in handy.

Hey Embellisher,
I got my Magicstomp for $120 used on the bay, plus $10 shipping.
And the FX are much better than zoom, easier to tweak. I consider it's quality close to rack quality. I think MSRP are in the $299 range.

As far as number of verbs or delay, you can have 99 user patches that can be anything you want. I downloaded the UD patches and they are quite good.

that's just lazy. i dont think anybody uses 8 and maybe a handfull still use 9.

I had the guitar version, it was pretty good, but a little slow when changing patches. Chorus and distortions were real nice. and the USB computer patch changing was pretty easy and cool. I sold it cause i needed money, but It a nice little unit.

Does Yamaha still make anything they made 3 years ago???? This is the only thing I hate about Yamaha, they never make anything for a good period of time. The PB1 preamp was awesome, they should bring that back.

Interestingly enough I just got the purple non-bass unit on the Bay delivered today. My first impressions are very good. Personally I don't go for the bass only effects, they tend to be too conservative, I'm looking for wacky as well as straight ahead FX.
And the editor is quite easy to use and fully functional. And no sucking of the low end out of my sound at all. I was looking for a one pedal small solution, rather than lugging my rack or laptop out on my regular gigs. I didn't buy it for the distortions but I must say they are very usable. Hey check one out, I love the fact that it's so editable and robust and the sound is really very nice. Try one if you get a chance.

Is there anyplace to get a full list of the 99 effects that come with it? I checked the Yamaha site, but didn't see a list. Is one there & I just didn't see it?

Not 99 effects but 99 customizable patches. I'm on the lookout for a used one, I've been yearning for a good delay and reverb.

O.K., misread. I see it says 63 Effects Algorhrythms. So there are 63 effects? Is this right?

Anybody know where there is a list of them?

It looks intersting, I like the idea of having the parmetres on my PC and uploading chnages.

Much as I love the idea of pre-programing everthing and tip-toeing on the presets, the reality is I like knobs to make chanegs on the fly.

I saw an earlier comment about a delay in switching patches - enough to preclude it for live use with multiple patches in a single tune (or switching a single patch on/off)?

One of my main effect uses/desires is pitch shifting - anybody know if this does polyphonic effects (like the Boss OC-3 vs. the OC-2)?

It's a classic Yamaha effect. I have it on my FX500.
It's a very deep modulation, somewhat similar to a vintage phaser with a bit of swellthat makes you sound like a synth pad.
Awesome with chords.
