Bass Oriented Music???

Same here. I really wish they'd give MAYH a go at that too....the lack of a true bass player made that album suffer when they mixed it. It has that 'wall of sound' effect as result.

On their first two, just loved DeFarfalla's playing. Still bummed they got rid of him.

*edit* I should pick up that remastered Still Life. One of my favorites.

I hear ya. Def pick up the remaster, it's worth every penny and makes a huge difference. That album is the bomb and sounds even better remastered. iTunes!! Haha

I really enjoy P-Nut driving 311. I didnt think i had seen it mentioned yet and that is definitely bass driven.
On a funkier side, you should definitely check out Vulfpeck. I would put a YouTube link but I'm on an iPod, but they are definitely worth checking out and their videos are pretty good.

Yep, Hypocrisy. Metal act that's been doing it for years. They're very hit-and-miss as they experiment a lot. Sometimes it works out, a lot of the time it doesn't. I give them cred for it though. It's fronted by Peter Tagtgren, who filled in for Akerfeldt when he tired of Bloodbath. Most certainly not for everyone, but I feel Tagtgren has an amazing skill with harsh vocals. Quite a repertoire that guy has. He's also produced for a lot of other metal bands. Talented guy.

Sorry, that's off topic...not bass oriented. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

*edit* if you're a metal fan, search Tagtgren's production credits...he's produced gazillions of some of the top albums from the 90's to current...it's almost obscene how many great albums he's had a hand in. Def the Rick Rubin of metal, IMO

Awesome, I'm a huge Rick rubin fan. The guy just hasn't done wrong and has produced some of my all time fav. I'll have to check the dude out you're talking about. I've followed Opeth for quite some tone now and I'm a big fan. I think I've heard of hypocrisy now that you ve said all that. Thanks for the info.

Back to bass orientated music....
