Jason. Being older, retired and only occasionally jamming in private with some friends; I haven't been needing to change the strings very often. You have treated me right the couple times I wanted stings. I just place an order so I could try out some other strings. Best wishes.

The end of an era. I’ll not only miss the shop, I’ll miss the knowledgeable owner who knew more about strings that most of us here and freely shared his knowledge. Nice guy too! True gentleman.

Wow this sucks, who else does singles like him in all kinds of strings..his site allowed me to balancedo sets in any string. Sad news
I wish I had bought more stuff from you instead of that bigger online store...I bought tuners once, you were great. A good reminder to me to support small business when I can.

The day I registered at Bass Strings Online. A few months prior, I had purchased a Spector USA NS-5H2 (the one with the single MM humbucker that I have posted on this forum 50000 times). I received that bass around the beginning of May, 2011 and I fell in love with it right away. Then on May 11, my mother passed away (she had been sick so it was not a shock) and so I always feel her connection with that bass. That bass was just meant for me, and it's the one I'll never sell. So then on July 22, 2011 after talking previously to Jason, I registered on his site and ordered a custom gauge set of DR Sunbeams for that bass. He made them my signature set and sold them packaged on his site, and used a picture of that bass on the ordering page for them. That was my first order from Jason, and of course there were many more over the years, and I made a friend in the process. I'm going to miss ordering strings from Jason, it just won't be the same.

This really bums me out. Jason was one of us. And he started his business to make things better for us. And it did. These forums bear it out with countless stories of exemplary service. I’m sorry to see this bright spot fade away, and I’m even sorrier for the impact this is going to have on Jason going forward.

@SLaPiNFuNK It's a rare privilege to see a business that has such a spectrum of people singing its praises. You've done exceedingly well in the estimation of the TalkBass gang and we admire and appreciate that. Whatever may have triggered closing BSO, know that it's our wish that the rest of your life get progressively better.

Just got some Slap Masters delivered this past weekend and these things ROCK if I knew he was shutting down I would've bought 4 more pairs for the future- the only stings I use is Ken Smith!!!!!!!!

Jason did me right by picking out a custom set of strings for me. Have been buying from him since. I will miss the great service, great prices and quick delivery from BSO.
