Bass Strings Online is Closing

Thank you all for the support I really do appreciate it. I can not tell you how devastated I am having to do this.

Perfect timing! Last night I set the website to only display certain items. I will be adding more items over the next few weeks to clear everything out.

For international orders you must enter your COMPLETE ADDRESS on the checkout page. Once you have done so international shipping rates will appear.

Free Shipping within the USA!

Dang.. I was too busy last week to finalize my order. I was just about to put the order that I saved in the cart.... Jason, let me know because the cart is already loaded up with quite a lot of stuff to ship to Japan. All I need to do is order it.

It would be cool to get screenshots of various info !

Either way wishing you all the best !

Well crap. I know life goes on, but man. Here's to bigger and better things!

I'm gonna buy SO MANY STRINGS. Let's see, La Bella tapes for my Danelectro, fresh Fender mediums for the 50s Classic P, maybe new flats for the '60 P (though I won't need them for 15 years), super slinkies for the Washburn, gotta research fresh punchy strings for the 5, and a couple full custom sets for the new 7-stringer. Let's do this.

I'm not a customer but I'd like to say thanks to SLaPiNFuNK. I don't know how many times posts regarding your store and all its goodies put a smile on my face. Your integrity and your support set a benchmark. This thread bears witness. Praise to the praiseworthy.

All the best, mate. And thanks again :)

Hello all,

I can not thank each and every one of you enough for your kind words here. I wish I could quote you all, and give each of you a personal reply but I'm afraid it would break the internet!

I have been working on updating the inventory of the site before I hopped in here to reply but watching this thread throughout the day really made me feel great. I can not tell you enough how much what has been said here means to me. Being a bass player that looked up to others, I wanted to be a bass player that others looked up to and influenced others music like others influenced me. Over these past years rather than touch all of you with my music, I feel I touched you by helping find your own personal voice through my services, whether you purchased something or I just gave advice.

I have selected a few messages to quote that I feel I can give something useful.

MODS: I hope I am not breaking any TOS by replying to any of these questions... If so please do not delete my post but edit out the things that break the TOS.

I tried to find the video to see what he had to say but couldnt find it - anyone have a link so that I can hear it for myself?

I posted to my personal facebook page:

This was not something I woke up today thinking I would do. Closing up has been the last thing on my mind. Unfortunately it is what is going to be best.

Jason, I have a question... If you don't own a bass string business, where would YOU buy your bass strings?

I feel like a friend I haven't met yet is moving away. Shucks.

Well, that's the thing! I started BassStringsOnline when I couldn't find the strings I wanted locally. When did I know I was on to something? When I started the business I figured, "Oh heck, this will be easy... If someone orders something I don't have in stock I'll just go down to the local GC or SA and get it." I got an order for a set of EPS190 just after I added D'Addario products to the website. Went to GC, nope, went to SA, nope... I was like... welp, I guess if it isn't 45-105 or 45-100 I'll be selling it! It actually took me a few months to sell my first 45-105 D'Addario set (one of their top sllers). So to answer your question... I do not know where to send you, I'm sorry I wish I had a better answer.

The website is still active until everything sells. Only on hand items are listed on the website at this time.

Ugh. Didn't see this one coming. At all.

Wishing you the very best of luck, Jason.

Up until I posted the video I didn't want to believe I had to do this. I have always put everything I could into BassStringsOnline. I just can not anymore.

So what happens now? My priority is getting any open orders satisfied. Please understand I am happy to be here for all of you to answer questions, however I need to put any open orders first. This will also include clearing out any on hand inventory. I also have some other business things I need to attend to and will be putting my time into those matters as well as being there for my family.

What is next for Jason? I am really not sure. Right now all I can think of doing is satisfying any open orders, clearing inventory, and doing all I can be there for my family.

Please understand there may be a delay if you send me an email, private message, or text message.

Thank you all for everything I really do appreciate the support and all of the beautiful things you all have said. My mother called me crying with joy and sadness seeing how many people appreciate me and what I have done. My wife was in tears reading some messages to me while we were driving home from the office today.

Thank you all so much.

Thanks for the service you've provided to so many of us here, Jason! You've been uncommonly upfront and engaged with your customers and I think we've probably all learned a lot about strings from you, in addition to buying all manner of weird types and gauges from your shop!

Personally I have appreciated ordering from you, as there are many shops that are a pain to deal with as an international customer, and you've gone out of your way to facilitate payment and delivery for me in the past.

I sincerely hope that whatever the reason is for your having to close, be it personal/financial/whatever, that you and your family will be ok and get through it all, and even in better shape than before.

I'll put in my order tonight!

edit: or I would have, if someone hadn't got to all the things I wanted first!
