Bass->Trem->OD->Head?

Best pedal order? What's the best COA? should i be using my send/recieve for the trem for timebasedFX? Both pedals are on almost full blast by the way. Help?

Personally I wouldn't bother running the Tremolo in an effects loop unless you're running your preamp distorted.

Other than that I'd put the Tremolo after the overdrive since the compression an overdrive unit can provide can mess up your trem sound sometimes.

Just an fyi, tremolo isn't a time based effect. If that's why you were going to put it in the FX loop, then like Mark said, I wouldn't.

The effects loop on amp heads is pretty much always at line level (for rack gear) and not instrument level which the vast majority of pedals are designed for.

And I like modulation after dirt in pretty much every case, and especially with tremolo.

So, I'd go bass --> OD --> Tremolo --> Amp

I always keep my tremolo at the end of my effects chain, and right after my reverb pedal (which is right after my delay pedal).

Although I agree with Mark and Jared, you are free to experiment.

Tremolo before OD can also give a great results.
What Mark says is true, the compression of the OD will diminish the tremolo effect. But the tremolo can let an overdrive or distortion pedal do cool tricks by varying the dirt level up and down.


I have my tremolo after my fuzz. No reason actually since I don't use fuzz and tremolo at the same time.
