Bass Whammy Petition!

No offense but just because someone talks to someone doesn't mean that I'm going to stop asking. Jauqo doesn't run the company. I like the guy, but I'm not going to stop asking based solely on his say so.
We may not get a Bass Whammy, but they could add a bass input on the next rev of the Whammy.

I remember when Aguilar was vehemently refuting the prospect of putting the AGRO in a "floor unit" format. Lo and behold, Tone Hammer.
If there is enough demand for it, it'd be absurd not to bring some compromise to the table, be it a Bass Whammy or just a new Whammy setting/tweak. The bottom line is that Digitech is a business, and that even though a guy (who may or may not sit high on the company ladder) says that he doesn't plan on revising a new Whammy, Digitech will still have to act as a whole company. It's a business for making business, and they will walk in the direction from which business is coming.
I'd rather they come out with a programmable Whammy, maybe with presets... that works with both guitar and bass. Besides, I never liked how small the Bass Whammy is compared to the WH-4. The treadle on the BW is like, the size of a Twinkie, and I've got big assed feet.

Forget digitech, why don't we ask Electro Harmonix to make a pedal using the same technology used in the HOG's pitch shift. You don't even have to calibrate it. Granted the HOG doesn't do a lot of intervals, but I'm sure EHX could do it.
Here is what it needs to do:
1. everything the bass whammy does
2. everything the regular whammy does
3. HANDLE LOW FREQUENCIES!!!!!! Like low B andeven lower!!
4. Volume pedal, since the hog does.
5. Midi
6. presets
7. Other bells & whistles
8. Use of expression pedal instead of a built in pedal/self contained unit. I like that if the pedal wears out, I can just replace it and not the whole unit.
9. Wah mode....PLUS combo wah and pitch option!! At the same time!
I'd like to see a combo pitch shift/volume pedal function! when you press the pedal forward, the volume and the pitch go up. And maybe also reverse that. When you press the pedal forward, the pitch goes up and the volume goes down. Could be interesting!!
That pedal would plow the music world away!

AS said by others, it may or may not be re-issued. It really doesn't matter what some person from digitech said on the phone or what any TB'er said on this forum for that matter
. If they ever do, then we would probabily begin discussing how it doesn't measure up the old bass whammy 
Also there is one other thing to consider. It is always good for business if one of the early creations gains the mythical status
I mean, if one of your pedal sells well over the retail price; it adds more to the trademark, maybe more valuable to a company than resurrecting an old design (strictly from a nominal perspective). It carries the brand name to a more respectable level and increases the value of what business world calls "Good will". So maybe digitech "prefers" the bass whammy to be sold at 500+ bucks and it may be even better for business than re-issuing it (especially given that it's a digital pedal).

I'm not full of my self,it's just that some times when people try to tell me whats going on in my business life and I just have to let them know other wise. I'm here to inform with actual facts not rumors. some people would like to see digitech reissue a pedal that they will not release it and this is info that I have had for years.
Please guys, if you were serious about this petition, why haven't any one taken it to Digitech?

My point is that you're not Digitech and you're speaking on their behalf. I understand that you have connections within the business and that is great, but I'm really not going to take your word as final when it's Digitech's decision. You can say with certainty that you doubt that Digitech will do another bass pedal and that may be correct. But unless you're running the business, you really can't make the decision which is what you seem to be doing in your previous post.

I was considering contacting Digitech and asking if they would consider a run if I could get 500 firm commitments with $100 deposit each.

The Tone Hammer is not the AGRO in a pedal.
Right, and as I've said before, you have to look at the scale of the business. Aguilar is a comparatively small company, and they have refused to put the AGRO in pedal form because they are afraid of the added costs of R&D and tooling, they don't believe it would be profitable for them. And they're a bass-specific smaller (more nimble) company. Digitech OTOH is a very large guitar-specific company, and their business model is based on mass-manufacturing thousands of units. If they don't think they can sell literally thousands of units, they won't invest in it. They have made bass pedals in the past, and they sold poorly. So now they're looking at a few hundred bassists on the internet who may or may not even be willing/able to back up their petition number with a few hundred dollars of actual cash; and they're looking at how unprofitable it's been for them in the past, tooling up for a new design and manufacturing several thousand units, to have only a few hundred go through the register.
There are nearly 700 signatures here. I'm going to speculate that a minimum production run for Digitech is no less than 2,000 units, planned for sales over no more than three years. If all 700 voters actually buy a New Bass Whammy at full price, Digitech will lose money on the 1,300 units that didn't sell. And come on, we already know that not everyone who put their name on this web petition actually intends (or is able) to shell out $299 or whatever even if Digitech turns around and announces a reissue.
I seriously believe the smart posts in this thread have been people offering alternate suggestions such as taking the consumer interest to companies that have already shown willingness to invest in bass effects, such as EHX. Heck, their recent run of not-very-inspiring pedals like the Blogger and the Steel Leather are doomed to commercial failure; so if we want them to not give up on the commercial viability of bass effects, we need to tell them what we actually want.
Talking to Digitech about it is like asking Renault to reissue the AMC Gremlin. I bet there are 700 Gremlin fans who would sign an online petition, too.
I'll try. And seriously, no disrespect to you intended. You have a lot of connections in the business and you play very well. Ok, maybe you're a little nuts with the low notes, but if that's your major fault, so be it. I just don't want to give up based solely on your say so when it's a business decision on Digitech's behalf. And I'll add that I think you're probably 99% correct. There most likely will not be a Bass Whammy reissue.
It would be easier for me to just buy one on eBay for $700.
