I hope you hit the mountain for a few turns as well or is DH skiing or snowboarding not your thing?
not much a downhill ski or snowboard guy , I'm more into biking and X-country ski.
MSA is a fantastic XC ski place.
Lots Fat bike trails known to locals are not in the published trails maps I've been told , didn't have time to explore all of them , sadly.

I enjoy both XC skiing and snow biking but I doubt I would end up doing either of those things at MSA in the winter. Too much DH skiing fun to be had.
Awesome hard packed conditions last night. Very fast.
We had about 8" of snow and it was still coming down. I got a bit restless and decided to ride. Slowest ride ever, but that's to be expected with about 10 PSI in my tires. 
First decent snowfall of the year! Here's the latest incarnation of my old brown Schwinn, above gridlock on the main highway. I built a new wheelset with Sun CR-18 rims that were 7 bucks apiece from Niagara before they went bust, and a Shimano CB-E110 coaster hub that was a buck from eBay. Tires are studded Nokian. I had to take off the fenders because there wasn't enough clearance for the big tires.
Compared to my other single speed, it's geared pretty low, but that works well for pushing these tires through the snow. It's easy and fun to ride, perfect for commuting or shopping.

Thursday was my birthday so I decided to go to the weekly Thirsty Thursday night ride at my favorite bike shop/brew pub. It was 30 degrees with light drizzle so we only rode about 10 miles but it was still fun. I wish I liked riding in the winter more. Spring can't get here soon enough for me!

I personally use two "light and motion" kits ; one on bar , one on the helmet.
So fun to ride in the dark in winter !
Did you get in this year? A lot of my bike friends didn't get in and are not happy about it! IMO it has gotten to big!

I have a Serfas LT-1000 on my helmet and a cheap Magicshine 808 on the bar. I have a bunch of the Magicshines so I always carry a spare because they're not very reliable. The Serfas is rock solid and very bright. I'm looking at an L&M Taz 1200 for my bar though. Integrated battery is a nice feature. Which ones do you have?
We had a pile of snow on saturday but rain and double digit temps yesterday so we lost a good bit of snowpack. Freezing up again now so trails will be back in commission shortly. Studs will be mandatory.
My hat (helmut) is off to all you winter/snow riders.

Much of where I ride is near/over Jamaica Bay, and it is always windy there.
If there's a 20 mph headwind, I have to get off the bike.

So funny, my buddy I ride with a lot just got in this year firbthe first time.
Been trying to get out more....prepping for the tour this summer. Anyway, I cruised around Pinole Open Space. It used to be a dynamite manufacturing plant from the 1800's to about 1960.
This is a cool spot to have a beer and look out across the bay to Mt. Tamalpais.

All in all, an easy 8 mile ride at abou 62 F.

We've had so much rain in SoCal lately that I haven't ridden in 3 weeks. 
I know I can put on a rain jacket and just go, but no. I'm a native of these parts.
