Basses with body inlays?

Does anyone inlay bass bodies? Any pics out there? I'm looking for ideas.
Just bought a walnut neck with a zebrawood fretboard. And I'm kinda thinking about inlaying some more zebrawood into the walnut body I'm going to build. That or I'll just scab some Zebrawood veneer on and do some carving.
I may even do some pattern that might be the opposite of a pickguard. Just to mess with peoples heads.

not a luthier but a woodworker, this is 1/8" brass bar (Hobby Lobby) and mother of pearl buttons Mrs shorthand had. Routed "stems" and used Forstner bit for MOP. My first attempt.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "inlay" - and perhaps I got it wrong - but I thought when you said "body inlays" you were talking about the type of things that companies like Knaggs are doing. He inlays wood veneer as an accent stripe in a complimentary shape to to causes a dual motion effect and give the illusion of contrasting woods. Although the first one below is contrasting woods, the others are not. They are merely finished to look like it:

Obviously guitars, not basses - sorry for that! Is this what you meant?

I made this one by inlaying spalted maple against a walnut body. I did it manually - I routed the walnut then sanded the maple with an oscillating drum sander to fit against it. It was not an easy process, but gap free by the time I was done.

ESP's "Exhibition' custom instruments are exceptional. This one has been on the web for quite a while (I think it's a real stretch that it's going to fetch 13K), but in an Oriental way is beautiful and very different.
