Basses You Can't Have

Some people do not like five string necks and will play faster on a four string neck.

Though highly subjective, many people just did not have the chance (or did not put the effort) to try many 5str basses. There are many different scales, profiles, thicknesses and ergonomics on the necks out there, that one really needs to try before they decide that the 5str necks are not equally comfortable as a 4str neck. And I don't think you can call Bill "The Buddha" Dickens a slow player whether he plays his 4str or his 7str ;) (Bill is by far more than a "flash" player; check out his playing with the Neil Zaza Band with Bobby Rock on drums). But each one has his own opinion and rightfully so ;)

Back to the OP, which basses would we like to acquire, but it's not possible

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not dismissing them at all, I play a six myself. But a high profile player like Tim Commerford by now has had ample oportunnity to play as many different profiled necks as he wanted, if he likes the Jazz best, and prefers this setup, who are we to stop him, or complain.

IMHO, I would have had it EADG fretless, BEAD fretted, btw. Or even ADGC fretless.

On topic, their's thousands of wicked basses ouy there that I'll never get a shot at, I won't worry about them as much as the ones that are in my reach.:)

Ever since I saw that picture of Geddy Lee when I was 14... a jetglo Rickenbacker 4080/12.

<<<I'm not one of those collector types that would want someone else's bass unless one of Entwistle's Ricks just fell into my lap. And I'm not Savvy enough to pick names models or specific years of what models I do know, But my wishlist would include the following:
MIA Fender P For the old school in me
A warwick 5 string active
and a fretless I may be able to combine the Fender with this and kill two Gasses with one stone
