Does anyone else think this is rediculous?

Can someone here please help me think of one legitimate reason why someone would buy a bass with two necks, one tuned EADG, the other tuned BEAD, when one could more easily procure a bass with one neck and five strings tuned BEADG?

You're right; that bass looks nuts. There are, however, many of us who would never be into playing a BEADG five string bass. There's just something unseemly about it that I can't quite place my finger on.

I am completely in love with the looks and sound and the whole idea but cannot stand the sharp binding edge caving in my hand when I play. That's true too for any bass or guitar with front binding (and even for some without binding but having "sharp" edges, like Musicman Stingray 5)...
