You guys forgot a few:

Triumph (Mike Levine)
Bruce Foxton (The Jam).. he sang a lot of the songs..
Greg Norton (Husker Du).. (sang as many as Bob Mould)
MIKE WATT.. (The Mintuemen, fIREHOSE).. someone mentioned him but gotta give him love.
Kim Deal (The Pixies, The Breeders)
Noel Redding (sang She's So Fine on Axis Bold as Love)

Sounds like he sacrificed basslines for the singing but the simple basslines did fit nicely.

[I'd add Jack Bruce to the list.

It was about time somebody brought him up.

John Wetton and Greg Lake both were lead singers. Larry Graham. Will Lee sings. Victor Bailey has a very fine voice. BoOtsy Collins ~ if ya call it singing. (Smile) As long as I'm expanding the definition of 'singing' there was Lee Jackson of the Nice. And lets not forget Dickie Peterson of Blue Cheer fame (Heh, heh.)

Wow - there are a few that do and some are lead singers also.

Paul McCartney, Chris Squire, John Entwistle, Sting, Gene Simmons, Victor Wooten, Oteil Burbridge, Noel Redding, Leon Wilkerson, Greg Ridley(Humble Pie).

These are just a few, but there are many more and we tend to forget the singers unless they are the lead singer, but lets not forget the harmonies - they are there tooooooo.

Good pull. When I realized he usually sang the highest parts to the Eagle's harmonys, it gave me a lot of incentive to start working on my background vocals - my voice is in the same register.

James Dewar (Robin Trower) was a GREAT singer, and one of my bigger influences - I cut my "bass teeth" learning to play most all of the early RT albums. He was one of the most gifter, REAL singers in rockdom.

Tony Levin sings some lead in his solo projects, and backing vox on all the King Crimson albums he played on.

Mick Karn
Alphonso Johnson
Stanley Clarke
Bill Wyman
Jon Camp
have all sang lead at some point in their careers.

Heck, even Jeff Berlin sang lead on Bruford's 1980 album Gradually Going Tornado

I presume someone already mentioned Rick Danko?
