And echo...as "One Of These Days" demonstrates. that was binson in the studio only. I believe. and it's layered double tracked. 2 bassist

A binson is an old school tape echo. it's not a pedal. the live version is a delay pedal adaption. the original is double tracked layered. and both lines are put thru the binson tape echo. there are echos and delays. similar but different. like analog and digital
I do not recall ever seeing a delay pedal until the late 70's. Up until then, anyone I ever saw using a delay used a tape echo, most notably the Echoplex and the Roland Space Echo. Binsons were mostly used in Europe because they were made in Italy. And they were certainly small enough to where bands could take them on the road.
Anyway, this is a pointless argument. Roger Waters used echo. End of story.
you are right. I wasn't trying to argue. I was just explaining the track. Pink Floyd used the binson cause they are English. and the First delay was in the 70's- the Boss Delay I believe. pink Floyd the beatles and Sabbath are the reasons whyI love effects, lol
Check out the original studio recording of "Sledgehammer", Tony played fretless through a BOSS octave pedal on that track.
I was trying to find a link to the King Crimson tune "Industry" off their Three Of A Perfect Pair album, Tony plays with some serious whacky out-there effects all over that track...more foghorn than bass guitar!
From that same album, "Sleepless" features some overt slapback delay on Tony's bass:
Almost any pro bassist will use it at some time or another...

Poor quoting on my part, I guess...I was referring to the post YOU were quoting. It's all good, we're on the same team!
I also happen to be quite anal about grammar, in both French and English. I should stay away from "the internets", I guess.
