Beer through a straw

Well I believe the story is that before their was free refills at mcdonalds.
They made the straws bigger so you would drink the soda faster

Which would increase the odds of you buying a refill.

So does just drinking through a straw make you drink beer faster?
getting you drunker..

or we talking if you drink the same amount via can vs straw.
then straw would make you drunker..

well the old beer bong works the best...

Hi.

My high school science teacher told me the same thing because you get less oxygen to the brain or something. I've never tried it tho.

^IMLE this.

As a teen we obviously tried everything from drinking through a straw to holding the booze in ones mouth longer to increase the effect of alcohol.

For some reason, either because of the drunkenness or the properties of beer makes You breathe less when drawing beer up a straw.
That causes oxygen deprivation and seemingly increases the buzz.
That causes also a hell of a headache if You keep it up.
If You don't pass out that is.

I wouldn't recommend that technique any more than the various other "genius" ways to get more wasted on less alcohol.

Regards
Sam

Doubt it. I think it just helps you drink it faster (I can drink a cold soda much faster through a straw than I can by mouth). I fail to see how you could go into any kind of measurable oxygen deficit drinking through a straw as opposed to by mouth.

Should it really require violence when you witness someone drinking tasteless swill(like the kind pictured in the OP) through a straw?

You don't drink beer through a straw. It's like a rule. It still applies if I don't consider your beverage a beer. If it says beer on the can/bottle/whatever, you don't drink it through a straw.

I'll say it again because it bears repeating. You don't drink beer through a straw. It's like a rule or something.

I overheard a guy talking about that old wives tale, and how it makes you "more drunker." Your thoughts on the subject?

You're not drinking unless you're drinking beer through straws in your nose. That's what we did in the Marines just to gross out people in the bar. I've had one beer since 1982, so I guess you could say I'm not drinking.
