I always thought that the lime pickguard was a bit anaemic so I changed to tort. Waddya think? Money well spent on the mod?

Fixed, or at least fixed enough for me. Masking tape and some permanent marker.

I have the same look in my Pbass. I kept the mint guard, and I am a huge tort lover. The mint guard on a white body with a rosewood neck just looks too good to me. So good that I rejected the Tort-Lord. May I be forgiven.

So close, too... the lines look good, on each side (pickguard and control plate), I bet with just a couple of tries, you could measure/cut a thin substrate to fit under them, filling in that gap...

... white/cream with tort just reminds me of the high end ice cream parlors that exist only in my mind...

Loosen all the screws on both the guard and the control plate. Shove them both inward and tighten them up again. See if you can nudge them toward each other.

The guard looks great. But the gap would bother me too.

A Matte black 3-ply also looks nice on Olympic White and Vintage Blonde.

I'm a tort (a.ka. "mother-of-pepperoni") hater so I can't believe I'm writing this, but it looks much better with the tort PG. Mint over white looks off to me. My personal pick would have been a black PG, though.

Tort makes an amazing aesthetic enhancement on a Jazz bass.

The knob section is trying to escape from the PG, hence the gap.
I don't think I could live with that gap though.

Great idea! But if that doesn't work, you could cut a couple of pieces of black tape or black fabric if you don't want tape, and slide them under that gap. Or if you prefer, some other color that comes closest to matching the pickguard to your eyes. The gap will be way less noticeable with a black or dark background.
