Behringer 8x10

Personally, i stay away from the instrument amps and cabs. The PA stuff is pretty decent, as is alot of the studio stuff
Not to be another random critic, but as far as the PA gear goes, I've actually seen 3 of their powered mixers under a very reasonable workload blow in the past month or so. Not all mine, but one of them.
I have also seen nothing but trouble come from behringer gear. If anything a passive device like a speaker they might not screw up.
If I was in the market for a cheap 8x10 I would hope for a beat up SVT 8x10 but then probably settle for a used peavey 8x10. Peavey has made some very solid bass cabs. They also make their own speakers as well so it wont be hard to find replacements. Which with an original Ampeg SVT cab can be difficult. IIRC the drivers were 32 ohms!

Carvin has a nice 8x10 for $600. In fact Carvin makes very good, workman like cabinets. Here is a link to their offerings: Invalid Link Removed
My first set up was a behringer 3000xt head... great value for the price. decent head, with a 4 x 10 cab with paper cones. The cab weighed a ton, was terrible. It was very trebly and the low end had no definition. Useless for a low B, or any drop tunings for that matter, started farting out easily.
Yup. I bought an ampeg 8x10 in alright shape (5 out of 10), all speakers worked for $400

yeah the behringer 8x10 ruined his taste for tone. his spirit crushed he gave up on bass and became a DJ.The OP probably doesn't even play bass anymore.
