The Bass V-AMP Pro features 16-distinct bass amp tones that are modeled after the following amplifiers:
Ever have one of those days where you just want to play through something new? Well, spin the knob!
- '68 Marshall Super Bass
- '69 Marshall Major
- Trace Elliot (80's)
- Vox AC-100
- Behringer Thunderbird
- Ampeg B-15
- Ampeg SVT
- Ampeg SVT Pro II
- '67 Fender Bassman
- Gallien-Krueger 800RB
- SWR SM-400
- Eden Traveller WT-300
- Mesa Boogie 400+
- Polytone A101
- Justin Meldal-Johnsen Style
- Classic Tube Preamp
To those disbelievers, these simulations are not simply the same sound with a different EQ on them. These tones truly have a totally different feel + sound quality that resemble the selected amplifier!
Welcome to the world of amp modeling and be sure to give each model a fair shot at becoming your favorite.
Even if the V-AMP offered you just one tone, it would be a bargain for all it accomplishes as a preamp, but to offer more than one fundamental amp tone is insane at its current retail price.
My favorites include the SVT, Fender Bassman, Gallien-Krueger + Marshall Super Bass.
Under a microscope, the simulations are really quite good, but in a live setting, just watch as other bass players wonder, "What the hell is that glowing red tone monster in your bass rig?"
Edit: Give all the models a listen @ Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro
To those of you who own the Bass V-AMP Pro, what are your favorite amp models?
Chad, way to go! Great work on this compilation, thanks.
I did not realize how voluminous all these add up to be.
Whoever authored all these tips really knows their V-AMP, either that, or they need to get a life
Cheers!
Hi chailie..Its me Tony c again.....I just played your samples thru my amp head and my 410 cab.and was wondering when the VAMP PRO is hooked to my amp ...will I get these tone's thru my amp and cab? I have my laptop running right in to my amp ....and if I can get these sounds!!! I am totaly sold!!!! and I will have it here in 1 week!!! I miss the fat sound of my Marshall stack!!
I wouldn't say I'm nuts. I am a tech geek and I a big fan of modern, solid-state music equipment...what I call "moving with the times".
Under the scenario described, your laptop is playing recorded samples from my web page through your amp and speakers. Even though sound is coming out, and you seem very excited about that sound, this is not the sound that you should expect to receive once you plug your bass into a V-AMP and then amplify it.
Best advice: try a V-AMP with your own bass/amp/speakers and return it for a full refund if not completely satisfied.
Cheers!
you got brother ...would this be the sound if I ran thru myCrown XTi 2000 amplifier ? and my cab?...or would this just be thru....say reg. pro.house speakers...or so on.....i have both
ok ......A little dis hearting....but I still want one....so are you telling me that I need to really run this thru my pc and my full range pro speakers to get the most out of it?....cause if thats what I need to do than I will.........we play for fun and thats all!!! I belive I have everything that you say I should need....you sold me on this along with everybody else and I just want one now!!!
ok I guess I wore out my welcome on this thred and thats not what I wanted to do .....sorry.... all have been so helpful...I been out of the loop for a long time and was afraid I would do this and... again i m sorry....I will take everything I gathered form all of yous and put it to thought.....thanks again .....peace brothers.....

No, what you're thinking is spot on. Especially if you combine the v-amp with a midi foot controller. The fcb1010 is specifically made to match up, but any will work. I just got the fcb, so I'm still a newbie at it, but just the default setting lets you easily stomp through 100 patches. So, just set them up just like you would a pedal board, have one to add compression, one for overdrive, chorus, etc. Whatever sounds you want. It's got 2 expression pedals too, so yeah, it'll totally save you having to buy a bunch of pedals. To really make it replace foot pedals though, you pretty much have to have a foot controller of some kind, if you want to change tones while playing at least. If you just switch between songs when your hands are free, then you don't need a foot controller though.
