The total volume and headroom with the 6.0 would be a good bit less than with the 9.0, but it would still be a fantastic pairing. With the 6.0 into a NeoX 212, I NEVER head a volume issue on any gigs I did, so if that's your situation as well and your happy with the 6.0, no reason to let it go if you want the AE212. It'll sound great!

I've actually GOT a AE212 But a guy close to me wants to sell his Shuttle 6.0 for SO cheap I'm thinking of grabbing it. I know the Streamliner's out in a while, but I have tube options already.....:hiding: doesn't mean I mightn't WANT one tho

So was just wondering re the 6.0 > AE212 rig as I don't really like the LMII > AE212 that much. (the LMII is basically THE amp I take in a briefcase, to every gig as a back up- & I'd like something that is a bit more... -how you say... compatible??) ;)
We're havin a typical Aussie (OZZIE - not OSSie) Christmas today. HOT day, cold meats & turkey on the porch.

If it is SO cheap than you have nothing to loose. Grab it I you do not want it somebody else will.

Pretty much smokes it in the low end and especially handling slap transients and digging in. But of course, at the cost of a larger form factor and 15 more pounds of weight. Still, the s212 is a GREAT uber light box for moderate volume gigs... very articulate, bright, punchy.

The AE212 is much more forceful deep low end, smoother in the upper mids.

Really no comparison IMO and IME. I would think the Tec Amp M212 would be a closer apples to apples comparison.

Including myself. I don't think they have the same oomph as a lot of the other uber-light 500W class heads out there, but they are gig-worthy, and at least IMHO are one of the most mildly "voiced" heads out there. I love it for testing stuff because it doesn't seem to really have any strong dips or peaks, and the GEQ is a great tool for comparisons.
