Bergantino B/Amp at NAMM

I really appreciate Jim's continuing dedication to his gear, and I appreciate your work on this too, Husky.

Just did the last month spending about 15-20 hours/week onstage with the B, and I had this feeling of relentless quality from the amp, hour after hour. About half the time totally clean, half the time with a medium amount of overdrive.

Can't wait to see what's next. I love the shared creative process by which engineering and cutting edge tech is combined with creativity and musicianship to entertain, or to worship.

Stop me before I start singing a Rush song. You don't want to hear that.

Just wanted to mention that I will be making the new distortion circuits available to registered B|AMP owners possibly as early as tomorrow. Just email John at [email protected] with your info, including the serial # of your amp and he will respond with the new firmware file. This is just an interim release until the Blue tooth upgrade becomes available. If your amp is not registered, please be sure to do so. It doesn't matter if you purchased it used. It's the only way to assure you will be privy to any future firmware releases.

There may be just a tad of chorus to thicken it up but that tone is easily attainable at moderate settings with Distortion 2. And a P bass....and a pick. :)

Man, I just had to co-sign this. I am very fortunate to be able to call Husky123(Lee) a good friend. His ability to break this stuff down to its essence is, amazing.
As far as these amps are concerned, I'll quote Nate Diaz. "I ain't surprised motherfu**ers!"

I've just installed the new firmware (v3.020) and I'm thrilled. Thanks Jim, Husky123 and all involved in the latest effects updates! I'm not normally much of an overdrive/distortion fan for the previously stated reason that it tends to rip out the bottom end, but I've tested these ones out and they really do retain warmth and bottom end while adding just the right flavour of sizzle. Very usable, and full of possibilities.

Can't wait to try them out at my next gig! This amp really is the schiznit... bring on the bluetooth pedal. Hoping it will be strong enough to withstand a few years of being stepped on.

I have a private party concert Saturday night that we are playing and I am going to try out these new distortions for sure! One old song requested was Clapton's version of "Crossroads" and these should fit perfectly. Especially since I have stood at those very Crossroads (literally; I am from Mississippi) and felt the sinking.

Please let us know what setting you use for Crossroads, and how much you felt it nailed Jack's tone (or not).

That's great to hear Juan. I told Jim many times and I'm sure he got sick of hearing it but both circuits HAD to retain a solid fundamental (i.e. No loss of low end). At some point you do reach a point when trying to increase the saturation/drive/distortion that the ratio must slide one way or another (clean tone vs distorted) but all three circuits are highly musical especially in a band context.

If anyone is not immediately psyched with the new circuits, I'd implore them to try them in the band context before casting final judgment. That's where they shine. They really do a great job of staying in their lane so to speak. IMHO, YMMV and all that jazz. :)

Hi everyone:

I just posted this over at the Club Bergantino thread: I'm a registered owner of a B/amp and loving it! I've usually received an email from Jim announcing the next release with a link to the file. Will that happen with 3.020 or will I need to go to the Berg website to find the file link?

Hi Ted,

Sorry for any confusion on this one. This is kind of a pre release firmware just to get the new distortion circuits in the hands of B|AMP customers sooner than later. Please email John at [email protected] and he will respond with the new firmware. AFter that, you will automatically be notified since you're registered.
