Bergantino HS410

The Bergantino logo is very classy though:D

turns out my current cab is around 17.7 inchs (450mm) so i'd probably be cool with the epi. interesting

+1... the standard Berg cabs with the black cones and the green logo look really good! It's funny, those HS's just don't look right to me...again... very minor deal. I feel the same way about the blue on that Epi600 head... yuck:D

if i end up with it i'll just use some black boot polish or something to darken it up:hiding: :D

anyway - back on topic :) anymore thoughts peoples?

I'm the buddy that Fuzzbass was talking about :)
I purchased 2 HS210's last week from Jive Sound and took delivery of the second cab yesterday. Direct shipped from Bergantino.
These cabs are loud and very versatile. They can do the "Old School" tone very well, and that's the reason I purchased them. They can also do a more modern tone by turning up the tweeter. My initial impression of these cabinets is they are going to be very useful cabinets, with the ability to offer up alot of great tones, depending on what you are after.

My setup consists of a Genz Benz 750 and these two HS210's.
I have one cab with the tweeter turned off and the second set flat and so far so good.

As far as the weight, I wouldn't worry about it, I am 58 and my music room is on the second floor of my home. I can carry each one of these cabs up and down my stairs with one hand. They really do not feel like they weigh 56 pounds.

The HS210 is actually a really easy cab to move around. A pair of them would be a great and really portable rig.

I've been playing the HS410 a lot lately at the shop and I'm really digging it.

Hey Dave,

Just took delivery of the first HS cabs and new NV cabs for Oz , yesterday.
Just from brief initial testing one thing, that really stands out, the HS cabs are LOUD, I mean very loud. The HS cabs while sounding very punchy definitely seem fuller and deeper in the bottom end and the highs are more inline with traditional 410 & 210 cabs (as Ken stated) while still retaining that sweetness that the Bergantino cabs are known for. Jim, definitely has some magic going on in his X-overs.
My initial thoughts on the Bergantino HS series is that they are going to be a very versatile cab which is going to work well with SS heads as well Tube heads. Tried them briefly with the Sadowsky SA200 and it sounded sweet. It's hard to find a cab that sounds great with a tube head as well as SS heads. Weight, shouldn't be a concern with these cabs as the're shallower depth definitely makes them easy to move around especially with those H/Duty 3" casters.
I also have an Epifani S1 UL410 4 ohm which was traded for an IP310. Will be A/B 'ing them soon hopefully to see how they compare. Pretty tied up at the moment.

If you want to find out more PM me or email.

BTW, I thought I'd mention this seeing I'm pretty excited since these cabs arrived yesterday- really luv the new NV cabs.

You know, you'd think that I would be relatively free of Berg GAS, but dammitall!!! Now I gotsa hear me those HS cabs!!! :help:

Yeah, like I wasn't jonesing for them already.... :smug: :p :D

Joel... whats your favorite head with it so far ???
Try any HS210's yet ?

Hi,

We've got the HS410 plugged into a Demeter/Demeter rig (VTBP/300VTH) and it sounds huge.

We've got the HS210's as well. They sound similar and are actually pretty portable. I haven't spent as much time with that one but it has the same sonic vibe. They did surprise me that they were as easy to move around as they are.

The HS is a great entry into the 210/410 space. If you can try one, they are well worth a listen.

I agree. Even 'Mr. Weight sensitive me' has very little problem with the 's' cabs (which are about the same size and weight as the HS210). The small profile, and the fact that each hit the 'under 60 pound rule', makes them fine to schlep around.

I will warn you that two of them on a cart can be a little bit of a hump if you have to drag them up the stairs of a loading dock, etc., but still not that big of a deal.

Like Fuzzbass, I'm a very satisfied Sadowsky 410 user, and that Will Lee tone is very close to what I'm looking for as well. Any thought to trying out one of the last of Roger's 410s? Although it's designed for tube amps especially, I used a DB 750 through it for a while, and that sounded great. Can't beat the last price for which I saw it available. Should certainly be in the same tone range as the HS, and you should be able to save a couple hundred.

I briefly owned a SA410 (great deal) and it was great with the DB750 for sure. Wish it was lighter though. The NV's are actually easier because they are taller (wish I was) and can lever them. But it did sound really (very very) good. I'm kinda interested in the HS210 though. I do love Bergs and the guy who makes them is top notch.

JC,
I was on your site today looking around and saw you had the new Bergs listed. I'm considering the new HS210 to replace my Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 210. The reason: So it matches my Bergantino HT322!
What would you think of that?
The Mesa is 600 watts @ 8 ohms, but only has 1/4" connectors in the back. My HT322 is being powered by a Crest CA9 + Ampeg SVP-CL preamp. Sounds amazing. The HT322 is so good, I haven't had to stack the Boogie on it for any gigs yet.

The rack combination is obviously quite heavy though. Is the new HS210 still kind of thin to stack a heavy SKB rack on top of it, or is that not really an issue?
With my setup, would you clearly choose the HS210 over the Boogie 210?
Thank you.

cheers peoples! while i'm sleeping on the otherside of the world everythings happening!

i would seriously consider a Sad SA410 but i'm thinking the tight cones tuned for the tube amp bloom wouldn't be so good with my Tfunk which has a tight bottom end anyway - i'd rather get the updated berg knowing its tuned more to a SS head... and... i don't have the cash just yet:)

Have you considered the 322? George still has some left and at a ridiculous price....Did you try that used one (I think it was Ray's) that the bass centre had?

I reckon the HS210x2 rig would be sweet..Most of your gigs would probably only require 1 cab and of course for the larger gigs use 2....George has told me that both 210 and 410 are seriously loud and full. You never know, you might fall in love with the HT/EX112 stack :p
