Tom, Im betting that alot of the clearer upper mids come from the fact that the old nv215 had the 15's running fullrange and that this new cab probably uses a full 2-way x-over. Just a guess there. Looks like the new 15 must be a tweeked woofer as well. I see nothing on eminence's site with a woofer like this that works in a sealed cab and has those ribs on the cone. Aside from the beta15 which, is probably what was in the nv215. Im pretty amped up to try a pair of these. Sent Jim an e-mail this morning hoping to order a pair with covers. Still in love with the .5 alignment nv610 but, these cabs which fix my jones for alittle more clarity and be easier to move.
I bet this would sound great with the DB750/51, the TH500, the Streamliner (as posted), and various all tube amps, etc. Awesome.

Of course, the question is, how would a pair compare to the nv610 or nv412. Only a guess but, Im thinking more lower and higher frequency output with alittle less hit in 150hz and then mid-mids (500-1000hz).
I'm interested in your thoughts on the Walkabout - NV115 or HD212? I have an NV412 that I pair with it now. Recently tried it with the HD212 and God, was that heavenly! But the NV115 sounds good too...
While I generally really love the DB750 with any of the NV cabs, the DB750 definitely wasn't our favorite amp of the group yesterday. Not that it sounded bad, but it didn't really show itself off, either. Which kind of surprised me a little bit, to be honest. Of course, all the other heads weren't chumps, either.
I have been hanging onto my NV215 for quite some time as I love it.........however this cab is really appealing to me. After reading this thread and others I am torn between the aspect of getting a HD212 or waiting for the NV115???
I love the 215 but currently use a Thunderfunk 550B through an aguilar db112 and 112NT.......and thoughts? I think i should wait for the 15 but lately I have become a believer in 12's........
With the 550B, that DB112/NT stack is magnificent IMO. The HD212 will be a bit bigger sounding and more open sounding, but IMO wouldn't change your life. I also don't think the very tightly voiced Thunderfunk would be particularly impacted by the sealed design. So, I guess I would just be happy with what you have at the moment.
IMO, if you were looking for a somewhat similar tone as your DB stack, but lighten the load and go to a single cab solution, the CN212 would be the thing for me. Not much heavier than a single DB112. A little brighter up top, but easily controlled with the TF EQ. IMO! Keeps you at 4ohms also, which can benefit that head, which sounds great, but is not particularly a hammer.
Well for fun, I could always use my Mesa M6 or old trusty Carvin B1500 for watts and authority?
I would bet that M6 with the HD212 would open some eyes and ears!

The HD212 would really crank with either of those, but then again, so would the NV115. The M6/HD212 combo is especially impressive (one of my favorite gigging rigs), and I'm guessing that the B1500 through one or two NV115's would be a really nice match, as well.

I really wish there was a place to go to try the newer Berg cabinets..........maybe Jive Sound up near DC?
