I don't think a tweeter is necessary.

I slap a decent bit with this cab, and have even moreso with my prior Accugroove cabs, all which were tweeterless.

Definitely a more "natural" top-end and you can dial in some Treble if you need the bite.

GS412 specs
Sensitivity: 101 dB 1W 1M

There must be a typo here somewhere, according to the posted specs the Berg seems to have the higher sensitivity rating.

Aguilars site states 101 db for both the GS and DB 412. I remember the GS having a higher sensitivity, but I could be mistaken.... for now, that's what they have on the site.

You're right, the published specs show that the Berg is rated at 103 dB efficiency and the Aggie is rated at 101 dB efficiency. I got them backward, will edit my post.

(not that anyone cares, but) i'm seriously wanting this. i may have to get one, and my only bargaining chip for sale or trade is my Bag End S12C. sell that, use my S15C on smaller jobs and for recording, and use the NV412 for the big rock shows! oh yeah!!

Well, I just happened to sell off all my cabs a few weeks ago, and hadn't decided what to get next.............yet. I wonder how one of these will sound with my DB750?

If the NV412 is anything like the NV610 or NV215 then AWESOME. I think the DB750 pairs fantastic with the Berg NV cabs.

Mine should be here in a couple of weeks. I have no doubt that it will sound tremendous on its own. I'm curious as to how it will pair with my NV610 and NV215 (or both ) - the 215 and 610 have a magical synergy going on when used together. Since there is more sonic space between 10's and 15's, this seems logical - since the 12's are theoretically somewhere in between, I wonder if there will be more overlap between it and both of the other NV's. Regardless, the evil plan is to run the twelves overdriven and keep the 610+215 cleaner for the ultimate combination of face ripping grind and chest crushing punch.... geez, I'm getting all giddy just thinking about it!

One more thing, I've always had cabs with tweeters because I like to slap. Does anyone slap on a sealed cab? What's the difference?

I slap a little on my NV610. My tone is punchy, growly, and edgy, with tubey grit sprinkled on top... and I absolutely love it, especially when my strings are fresh. Sure, clean sounds thru the NV610 -- it gets pretty bright -- but with no tweeter it lacks the über-high-end 'ping' (7kHz and above) that some modern slappers prefer.

FYI I think Flea-type slap works great thru it, and I think Marcus Miller style would probably work too, but the NV cabs would not work for, say, the squeaky-clean Ken Smith style slap tones.
