Best 1x12 cab out there?

I do have one and love it. Upgrade to a B&C 12 and the spray on coating. You won't regret it. I put my LDS absolutely on par with my friends' UL112 - so does he btw. And I saved a boatload of $$.

Here is the link to the 1x12 shootout. I do need to update it, though, as I have picked up a few more very good 1x12's, namely the EBS Neo112, EA M-line Wizzy, and Bergantino HT122s. I would love to get a pair of Aguilar DB112's, too, and throw them into the mix.

Hi Tom,

How would a EA M-line 12" and a Wizzy 10" (on top and sideways) sound together?

I'm doubling with a Wizzy 10" which is fine for small gigs, but when I play in a big swing band I think the amplifier (EA iAmp 800) is going into compression sometimes as a safety when it's played loud.

I used that exact rig at a benefit last month, and it is hella loud! I find that I do need to dial in a bit of low end boost with those Neo112's (especially on a 5-string), but they can handle it well, and the rig sounded great!

It certainly left some of the other bass players there shaking their heads over that 'tiny' rig. :cool:

They sound very good together, actually. It's 'bigger' sounding than the two Wizzy 10's, and a tad more upper midrange to 'high end' (which is a relative term), as compared to two M-line Wizzy's. If you want a visual reference on how they look relative to each other, here you go!

VERY different from the UL-112's. The Epi's have a much bigger low end, and not nearly as much midrange punch. The EBS Neo112's are very loud and present through the mids (but not in a 'humpy' way). The high end on the UL-112 is airy and 'woody', and has a nice, beautiful sheen to it. The high end on the EBS cabs is also very, very nice, but more 'connected' sounding, and the upper midrange to high end transition is really great.

Epifani UL112 + Markbass (Sansamp RBI optional) = great tone! The only thing that would be better would be to add another UL112 to get the full 500 watts out of the Markbass. Very impressed with the Epifani cabs and they sound great with my five strings too.

I've been using a Mesa Powerhouse neo 1-12, and it is a great cabinet. It got a great review in Bassplayer mag. I replaced a CB- 1-12 Avatar in my arsenal with it. I still like the Avatar a lot, just prefer the neo 12. I'd suggest trying the newer, slightly bigger SB-112 Avatar, with a neo 12 Eminence. It is only $250 direct from Avatar. I'll bet it's the best cabinet for the money in this category!

I have 2x Aggie GS112s and have never had any complains with them. The mids come out fine at stage volume, though I've yet to try the DB112s

I have 2 x GS112s and am using them with an Ashdown ABM500; they're nice, butI find them a little polite. Any suggestions? I'm after more of a Chris Squire sort of thing; I'm also in the UK so stuff like Avatar and Bergantino are out of the loop. I guess I'm limited to Aguilar, EBS, Eden, Accugroove (you can forget EAs as I hate them!), Epifani and maybe a couple of others.
