best bassists today

This thread is great.. got several good laughs out of it, and humor is the best medicine!

1) There is such a thing as the "best 3 bassists"
2) Some of the suggestions in terms of best bassists. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to discredit anyone's opinion, it is just funny/interesting to me how different people's perspectives can be. I will leave it at this.. every bass player mentioned (I think.. I didnt read them all is better than me, so who am I to criticize

Im gonna go ahead and say Mark King, you cant have slap bass without him. Geddy Lee Kicks some major butock and Chris Squire is pretty good. Victor wooten is deffinetly insane though.

I've been a huge fan of the work Mike Gordon from Phish does since I started playing music.

Chris Wood kicks ass, definitely.

I agree with the Will Lee thing. That guy's a monster.

I saw Rush live once. Geddy Lee is where it's at. Personally, I think it's hard to rank bass players...
