Best beer for practicing bass!

Right. I'm not really into drinking so I'm not up on the various typess of beers, ales, lagers, IPAs, etc.
A beer thread? YES!!! Haven't read the whole thing but in general terms I like beers which can be enjoyed at relatively warmer temperatures (ales as opposed to lagers) while I practice. That way you can sip slowly between songs and not have to feel like it's necessary to down it fast while it's still cold. I'm partial to intense hop levels, so a local brewery Karbach Hopadillo gets my vote for favorite ale to drink while practicing. 
I'll admit to a bit of Texas heresy and say that I'm not all that wild about Shiner Bock. I do, however, love their Bohemian Black Lager and it is a frequent resident of my fridge.
those beautiful new Rickenbackers! as to beer, fermented barley gruel is what the northern people ate for thousands and thousands of years starting in the Middle East extending to Briton and Siberia. Yeast technology is ancient. Beer is now added to a high sugar low fiber diet and the uric acid in it (assuming they are big meat eaters too) starts people on the road to cardio inflammation and diabetes II...
For practice and rehearsal, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Sweetwater 420. Not too strong, but tasty. For general drinking pleasure, when I don't have to worry about driving, I'm partial to Bells Two Hearted Ale and Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin.
Oh yeah, that is good. Particularly enjoy that in the Summer months. And I'm not typically a grapefruit fan, but in that beer it just works.
You show up and put Olympia, Hamms, or other $2.00 a six-pack brand in the fridge. The guitardist shows up and puts the latest trendy flavorful micro-brew at $12 a sixer in the fridge. Then set up and play closest to the fridge. Everyone shares, right?
That's awesome! Mike Watt gave me a sip of his spruce beer after I helped him tear down and load up his iconic van in Montreal (circa 2004), but I get no points because that's not real beer...
The Bass ale isn't all that great, but it was worth it for the photo.
One time I fell face first into the crowd during a show and the kind folks pushed me back up on stage, miraculously I landed in my feet and contunued to play. We were opening for 'Afroman' at the time & racked up a $1200 bar tab. So the story goes, I have absolutely no memory of it. This was approx 10 years ago, I don't drink at all no before playing a show but will have a few here and there. I prefer whiskey.

j/k I know exactly what you mean - I'm the same way. Not very "punk" to buy into hyper-consumerism. It's along the lines of paying a premium for new jeans with holes "professionally" added. It's called wear'n'tear for crying out loud, not "buy'n'wear pre-torn"!I came in here to answer "Harp" but then saw your first post, and I have to say well done! All replies pale in comparision
