best cab to go with a 1x15?

I’d go with another 15 hopefully yours has a horn or a good tweeter in it, if so get another just like it. I know a lot of people here say 15 are too muddy, but with today’s technology you will have one sweet sound, the entire fat bottom, and mids you want and need to fill a room and the tweeters will help your keep your highs clear as a bell

but if your 15 has poor mids maybe look at a 2-10.

get yourself a high quality cabinet which you can try out first and discover if it has the mids you want.

people will suggest EVERY size of speaker to you, because they can all push "mids" well, but that doesnt mean very much because cabs all sound different. You might discover a 1x15 you love, or a 2x10 you think has the kind pf punchy mids you want. Dont get another one of the same 115 you have. if you dont like its tone, adding another one wont change anything tone wise drastically, just volume. Just go try out "cabs" in your price range and find out which cabs work for you, instead of thinking in terms of "my rig needs more of this size of speaker" when i think its more important to just think "my rig needs a cab which offers this particular quality" obviously speaker size matters a lot, but that doesnt mean they are all equal.

I used to think only 15's would have the lows i loved, but now i love my avatar 210 because of it has better lows than most 210 cabs. so if you wanted more lows, i wouldnt just say ADD A 15!!! because there could be cabs with 10 inch speakers or 12 inch speakers which also have awesome lows. same goes for mids.

but what fifteen are you using now, what are you pushing it with, how would you describe the sound, and what are you looking for tonally that it lacks - or do you like the sound but just want it louder?

between the huge differences between speakers of a given diameter due to manufacturing and design differences, AND the enormous impact of cabinet design on the eventual sound there really is no definitive way to pigeonhole the various cabinets in terms of sound.

Have you tried to get more mids via eq??

but what fifteen are you using now, what are you pushing it with, how would you describe the sound, and what are you looking for tonally that it lacks - or do you like the sound but just want it louder?

between the huge differences between speakers of a given diameter due to manufacturing and design differences, AND the enormous impact of cabinet design on the eventual sound there really is no definitive way to pigeonhole the various cabinets in terms of sound.

yeah, but you use proper english scentence structure i just type in this stilted manner, without sounding, like people do when they talk, and cram as much as i can into a wee space. that's how i sound like i know what i'm talking about

Add a decent crossover to a sealed back midrange.
Like a Eminence Alpha-8MRA

Sealed back because then you don't have to worry about building an ideal box. Just a box.
This will get the punchy mids out.

SWR Henry 8x8. I probably don't perceive "punchy" the same way you do though.

Don't get rid of the 15" (you need it!) - add a 210 or 112

the sound is very bottom and top heavy
the typical "V" shaped scoop
i am looking for just the opposite
more mids and the like
and yes i have tried eq

Another 115! I usually don't like to mix speaker sizes. I've used lots of combinations eg; 210/115, 210/118, 112/115 and although they sounded really good, I just prefer the tone of either 112/112 or 115/115. Possible frequency incompatability? I don't know, just guessing, I'm not an engineer.
