Best Female Singing Voice

There’s a lot great ones. Just on the strength of this song (especially) and the album it was on, Maria gets mine.I listen to it frequently. I have never heard her sound as soulful as on this song. IMO. Oh yeah, Lone Justice was her previous group.

Judith Hill was part of Michael Jackson's last tour, had a duet with him and everything ... until he suddenly died. Was also working with Prince but ... he died. Girl can't buy a break. She was the standout in her season on The Voice (imo) ... but the best singers rarely win those shows, somehow. She also appeared in the film 20 Feet From Stardom (really worth watching!), has had an ongoing career despite the bad luck. Here she sings with contempo-funk outfit Scary Pockets (that's Jack Conte from Pomplamoose and Patreon on the keys), doing AC/DC no less. Bring it Judith!

Actually, I agree Karen Carpenter is one of the best. At 72 I’m finally beginning to appreciate what an extraordinary voice she had. Even if they had some clunky songs!
