Scott Thunes' P-Bass through a flanger (I believe) on Make a Jazz Noize Here (Zappa) and The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life (Zappa).

The house engineer (Harry Andronis) on the '88 tour had the most amazing hard-on for my bass tone.

Because he was using Spectors by the time they hit the road, I thought Rachel Bolan recorded Skid Row's first CD with an NS-2, but when I later read that he recorded that first album with a P, i was VERY surprised. Best mixed bass in hair metal, I believe.

Steve Harris hands down. His P bass tone on early Maiden is the sickest. Mike Dirnts has a nice tone, Matt Freeman as well. Oh and Mic Todd. He uses a P bass sometimes on records (No World For Tomorrow songs like Mother Superior) he has a great tone with a P bass. Oh and how could I forget the mighty John Deacon?
