Best Pickguard for a Red P-bass

Here we go.. Decision time. What 'cha think. Best looking guard on a Red P-Bass?? I was thinking Black Pearloid, but the White pearloid is pretty cool. Annodized looks great, but that's prettty expensive.. So let me have it..
Thoughts, Opinions, Carrots, 1 ply, 3 ply??? Help

Why, tort, of course! But only if it's Fiesta Red, for CAR, I'd go with white/white pearloid.

Black looks good on trans red, IMO... especially with a maple board.

Learn from red sportscar designs - mostly black or white, or chrome, as decorations. Anything else looks too busy.

I love red basses!! I've owned:

-Candy Apple Red: Tort, and White Pearloid
-Fiesta Red: Tort
-Torino Red: Solid White, and White Pearloid
-Midnight Wine: Solid White, Solid Black, and Black Pearloid



In general, i've liked White Pearloid if it has a Maple fingerboard, and a good Tort if it's a Rosewood fingerboard. The darker Solid Black and Black Pearloid were GREAT on the darker Midnight Wine; they really allowed the Midnight Wine's color to pop!

I vote for black with cream pickup covers. I love that look especially with a maple black bound and blocked board.

I guess it depends on the shade of red too.

Then either brown tort or white pearloid would work nicely. JMHO.

Pickguards are meant to be tort.

White Pearl. When I bought my Modulus it had a black pickguard on a transparent wine red finish. I replaced it with a white pearl one and it looked like a completely different instrument. Much more retro.

I have a red P, kind of an odd guard, but it works for me.
