Best rig $3800 budget

Mesa M9 and your choice of cab 4x12 6x10 or 2x10 +1x15.

I use an Mesa M9 and a ph 2x12 small med rooms and a ph 4x12 for outdoors and big rooms. would be damn close to 3800 if ya did online to avoid tax.

no, cant go wrong with an svt. depending on what size places you are playing and how far from your amp you stand. if you dont stand farther away than 8-10 ft, you should be able to hear yourself fine. on another note, consider resale value. if there is not alot of used eqpt in your country, it will be in high demand if you need to sell it. a heck of alot more in demand than a markbass or other pretender (i can hear the sneers lol)and you will get a higher percentage of the investment back. i bet when i sell my svt blueline i get the full 2 thousand back... food for thought.

Well guys as the tittle says I´m looking for a new rig and all I got is $3800 to spend, my question is what head and cab would be the best I can get for that money.

I play in a hardrock band and we have motley, skid row, white lion and acdc as ours main influences. Also I love Rachel Bolan´s tone in Slave to the Grind, anything that can help me to get that tone would make me so freakin happy-

P.S I know he uses an Spector but I cant afford one atm.

you could get some serious doom going on with that kinda cash. Bunch of model T's etc into some 2X15s

so heritage svt-cl

are you still shopping for rig?

what brands do other bass players use in peru?

I really like my Eden wt550c aguilar cabs and tech21 VTbass pedal. nice thing about the wt550c is it can run at 2 ohms load (up to four 8 ohm) cabs, so I have four 112 cabs and bring one or up to four depending on how much volume I need.

if I had to do it over I'd get the WT800c just to cover all the bases better

Gonna pop in and add to the SVT-VR + 810e chorus with two exceptions.

1. If you can find a used-but-in-good-condition SVT-II, get that. Do NOT get an SVT-2Pro. I have a friend who has one with a similar cab setup, and they do NOT sound the same. SVT-II all day. I'm glad the guys here talked me out of selling mine.

2. If the 810 is too much of a bear to haul around (which I don't doubt), shoot for a Bergantino 610 or an Aguilar DB410.

overkill ? nah, my rig is almost 20 grand and i have 2 complete rigs. so far no casualties. as a bassist, better to have too much than not enough. i normally only use 1/3 of its capability, but then again i dont have to move it :) a 1000 watt rig at 300w sounds stronger than a 300 watt rig at 300w. three 4x10 cabs should cut any bar gig. for rock, personally i would go with a 2x18 or 2x15 cab with a 4x10 for mids and highs. johnny a. staind.

^ living the dream!
