Best Single 15 Cab?

The only reason I sold my Ht-115 was that I need more volume than it, or any 15 can provide. I went back to using 4x10s. Not the depth I'd like but more in-your-face volume. My second place vote would be for the old cabaret series JBL cabinets with K-140s in them. Large cabs with an unusual shape with lots of punch and just the right amount of low end.

Well so far it looks like the Berg has a lot of fans!I know that they are discontinued !Does anyone know of any NOS ones available.If I get a used one I will be taking a chance with it!Does any one know what kind of 15 Jim used in the HT 115's incase I would need to replace it?Who out there has any experience with the Epi UL 15's?

No worries. If you pick up a used HT115 and anything goes wrong, then Jim will take care of you.

FYI, I recently talked with Marc Serio (Dr. Bass), and he has improved upon the already excellent 1x15 that I own. So, if you'd rather buy new, then you may want to check out his cabs.

Guess............ :p

Lots of good 15" cabs out there. The Bag End S15 is a unique animal, with a compact as it gets size and a quickness and attack that one associates with smaller drivers. A pair is devestating, although like others i prefer the S15/S12 combination. (but two of each is really the way to go - :D )

Ah yes, the HT122s. I forgot about that one. It'd got the low end of the HT115 and the focus of the HT112. GREAT cab! Add that to the EX112s for a rig loud enough for most any gig.

I forgot to add that the best "cheap" 15 is the Peavey 115 BVX BW. Even without a tweeter that cab throws a lot of mids. It is bulletproof and heavy, but for the price it is a steal. Mine is mated up to a Ampeg SVT III Pro and I'm quite happy with the tone.

Naw, I just own lots and lots of gear. :D

Though I will say that Dr. Bass cabs do a very commendable job of competing with some of the much more expensive competition.
