Best Single 15 Cab?

Call this #: 925-706-2400. This is the Bag End Representative for Nor Cal. They should hook you up with a dealer.

Though, I don't know if the S15-D would improve the low end that much for your NV-610 if that's what you're looking for. Hopefully, you'll find a dealer and bring your 610 with you to test it out for yourself.

First, I have to call tommorow and make sure they still have the HT-115 in stock (which I doubt, even though their website still has it listed). And should probaly wait until I get a new amp first (probably a Thunderfunk once I get the funds together.) Unless I find someone willing to let me borrow one for a couple hours...

I believe Gelb Music in redwood city carries bag ends, and if you're going the other way, Bernie's in redding used to have a few (but I'd call first, its been a while since I've been in there).

Sorry Foderaman it took so long for me to get to ya, been out of town. I own an Epifani 115 cab and love it. It has a great range of tonal response, sweet and full, great with a low B also. Several studios I record in like to mic it. For larger gigs I'll add a Epifani 210 or my 112. The 112 and 115 is a huge sound. Not to many people I know go for 15's, but I love the Epi. One bass player borrowed my Epi 115 and A/B'ed it with a Bag End and Ampeg and fell in love it, bought one the next day.

It's been a couple years since I've been to Gelb but I've never seen Bag End stuff there, except maybe in the consignment shop. They do have a gorgeous selection of bass gear there--that's where I bought my F-Bass, Peavey Cirrus, and some other expensive stuff. They also have the best service of any music store I've been in, bar none.

I know Leo's Music in Oakland (which is more of a high-end pro sound shop) had Bag End stuff last time I was there. I have seen a couple used S15X-Ds at Guitar Showcase in San Jose over the years; there are some good deals to be found in their consignment shop (and a bunch of junk). Bass Northwest in Seattle always has a ton of Bag End stuff in stock, ready to ship.

I know that BNW usually has some Bag End stuff, and I wish I had nabbed some of it... But it seems it has all been sold. I will look at those stores. As for the question of improving sound, this will be used mostly as a practice cab, and when used live its as much to get me extra sparkley highs of a tweet as it is to give me extra lows (yes, the 610 has tons of lows already :p )

You could always just add a Trace Elliot 4x5 Bright Box to the 610. ;)

Ok, who was the guy that read my post and bought the last HT115 at Rudy's? :scowl: :D It was there for over a year and it just so happens that when I call, the guy said he "just sold the last one." Strange coincidence. :hmm: Oh, well. I didn't really want buy it anyway, just wanted to try it out.

I would just like to add that power matching is very important when using a single cab.

I have an Ampeg Classic 1X15 (8 ohm) that I use at times with my Thunderfunk. It sounds so warm and fat for just a single cab. Never farts out either.

The Ampeg isn't known to be one of the "hot" fifteens, but it sure does it for me (and I can't stand when cabs fart out).
