I have a strobe Turbo Tuner as well and dig it. I've heard only great things about the TC Electronic Polytune as well, so you probably couldn't go wrong with it either.

Best tuner pedal for 5 string?

I have a Peterson StroboStomp thingy. Paid $50 for it....don't think it was ever used. Not necessarily the best but still a contender.

Another vote here for the Turbo Tuner. Better than my Korg Pitchblack on the B string.
Plus it's accurate enough to set intonation.

I have a Peterson StroboStomp as well as a Sonic Research Turbo Tuner.
I find the Turbo Tuner works better for quick/easy tuning, works great with my low B (Fodera E5S) and seems more solidly built (not to mention smaller) than the StroboStomp. Hence, I pretty much use the Turbo Tuner 100% of the time now.
One thing you might try: Search YouTube for 'Guitar Tuner' or if you're thinking about a couple of specific tuners, search them, e.g. 'turbo tuner vs strobostomp', etc.

I've been using our Rocktron Unity Tuner for a while now. Probably the biggest display on the market, photocells to adjust the brightness (read: you can read the display with the sun directly overhead - I've done it), and a calibration feature in case you're tuning to a fixed pitch instrument like a piano.
I have been using Fender PT-100 pedal tuners for about 10 years - one on my pedal board for my guitar and one left at church where I play bass every week. Got them for about $40 each, and it has never had issues picking up the low B on my 6 string. Great as long as you tune to 440 Hz standard.

The PB is a great pedal tuner.
At the lower end of the price scale, I like the Donner tuner pedal and the Snark tuner pedal.

Yeah. Sold mine and been kicking myself ever since. My Clippy-do Snark is nice, but I don't need it, and would rather have a Stompy.
Look at the TC Electronic Polytune Clip On. A great piece of kit and seemingly selling well here in the UK. I have not used my Polytune pedal since. It works perfectly with my MM SR5
I had my TU-2 when I was playing a Peavey Grind 5er last year and had no complaints about it. Another reason for me to keep the TU-2: I've started using its signal-splitting feature as of late, which opened up additionnal possibilities, fx wise.
I have read issues with a clicking noise with the old TT pedal-engaging the pedal to check tuning between songs.... Does the mini make the same clicking notice?

Yes, my ST-200 Turbo Tuner (the 'old TT' you refer to above) does have a clicking sound. It's not loud compared to some pedals I've used. In fact, it's rather slight, but it is indeed present and if used in a quiet environment such as a church gig where you might be checking intonation during a quiet prayer time, it might be noticeable, but just barely.
On the other hand, the new Turbo Tuner ST-300 mini has no noise at all--totally silent. The switch is like the one on my TC Electronic Hall of Fame if you're familiar with that.

More than $150 but I use a shure glxd wireless system. The built in tuner is fantastic. For studio when im not using a wireless I use a korg handheld.
I may be the only one around here using a Snark pedal tuner. Its not pretty, but its cheap, works well, and has a silent switch. I've no problems using it with my 5 string.
