Big E Speakers Part 4 - Quadraphenia

I could enjoy one of these small footprint 10 or twelves. but have to sell either of my big venue Mas cabs first. Because I am an occasional gig old bastage now. Love the innovation that is ongoing.

Okay, check this out. Here is LowDown Bass Guitars founder and luthier, Tim Seisser, playing through the three Bodai cabs at the 2017 NAMM Show:

I listened to each one back to back a few times, and each model has its own flavor. All of them excellent. Very impressed with the sound quality of the video through headphones too.
Just from the clips it seemed the 110 was the most focused, the 115 had the widest sound with extra detailed mids and sheen on top, and the 112 was the thickest top to bottom with a more traditional bass cab sound.
Man, tough call on which is my fav. Each have something different I like!

Glad you found them useful! That was a Zoom Q8, btw, recorded using a combination of the stereo shotgun mic capsule and also a Rode M3 aimed at the cab(s). I definitely agree that they each had their own flavor, and at various points, I found myself calling each one my "favorite." I think the 110 probably had my preference the majority of the time, though, and two of them are a wonderful thing!

From what I've heard of the little 16, it would make a nice clear monitor (or even home theater speaker). That (side fill behind the big cab) is a clever use of it.
It worked well, I couldnt hear the 16 at all. ;-)
But our drummer heard all my wrong notes.
I will likely use this in the future on "big" stage gigs, but Im (of course) thinking I may get by with 2x16

Ive been catching up on the last months posts here and I'm getting sick to my stomach thinking about selling some of my Bergs so I can afford to buy one of these or at least one of the previous generation that will be hitting the used market. But then I have been getting restless thinking I need to try something new in the speaker Dept. For quite awhile. I take a long time researching and reading and listening to people whose opinions I believe I can trust. To paraphrase the financial advertisement, when Tom Bowlus and Bass Gear speak, people listen. At least I do. And I really need to try one of these sooner than later.

Enjoy what you've got and try something new when it happens, no point beating yourself up for the next best thing no matter how good it is. I'm fascinated by these too but as an owner of some fine Bergantino cabs myself I'm not going to go all in and sell some superb kit for another flavour of amazing.
Unless you really need the extra dispersion and have a need to fill rooms without PA consistently it's worth stepping back and deciding if you really neeed it or if it's just good old GAS.
