Big E speakers: Pt 2

I'm sorry if this has already been covered, but will a 110 sub be available with the crossover switching options that are on the flex? For guys like me (who double and play a lot of smaller upright gigs and a lot of electric gigs, and want a modular setup of a 110+45)

Man, you don't rest Mike. This looks both stunning and absolutely revolutionary.

On the same note: would it be possible to add a sub to a 110 flex, making a modular 210?

Didn't have a 1 3/8 speaker pole on hand so it looks a bit wobbly. Actually, the 4 ft. height is a bit much for me. I prefer just under ear level. The grill for the 45 will be here in a few days. Single Ciare tweet, Okume all around.

32# for the sub and 29# for the 45.

This is a nice setup for a doubler. 45 alone for DB---ad the sub for electric.

OMG! :D

Does anyone know of a small self-contained, quality, decently-priced mono power amp that a person could use with these to keep the speaker cable runs to a minimum?

I know Demeter has the Minnie 800D, but they are a tad pricey.

Invalid Link Removed, maybe? Though I strongly recommend the Minnie 800D, if you can swing it.

Thaaaaaaaaat's what I'm talking about! Outstanding work, Mike!

You don't need a separate power amp for the sub, it is meant to be run inline with the 45. Based on what I recall Mike telling me, the sub has the same torroidal passive crossover as the flex 110 so it passes a highpassed signal to the 45. Also I believe there is a switchable pad to level match the 45 which is slightly more efficient than the 110 sub. It's all so killer, bristling high tech yet simple!

I'm getting this setup, in fact I believe that might be my rig in the picture!

Shrigg,
Thanks for the response. I wasn't asking about a power amp-I understand that it is a passive crossover run inline with the 45. I understand that in the flex cab there is a switch that changes the crossover point or something and has a big effect on the midrange. I was asking if the standalone 110 sub, meant to be run with another cab has that same option, so you end up with basically a modular, physically split flex setup.

Maybe we can do a full Flex thing out of the sub--we'll see.If there's a call for it we will.

One thing on the sub---the 45 is a bit hotter so I'm putting a 2.5db pad switch in there. With the switch off there is a nice mid boost. Seems like it might be too subtle but it is exactly what I'd like to have--- a functionally more mid-forward cab.Or not.

Switch plates just arrived and look good. I have to go out of town for the weekend so I won't be able to get the 110's out until Tuesday.

It's a bit challenging getting a new design (and drastically new technology) out to market and I really appreciate everyone's patience and support!

You are describing most worthy undertakings in life - they always take longer than expected. ;)
