Bill Nash Bass Info

Hi Folks,

Thanks to all who have shared an interest in what we do. I just want to clarify if I may.

We use OEM makers for both bodies and necks. They are both in the US but I will not disclose who they are. Last time one of my suppliers got mentioned in an article, they bent to pressure from a large corporation and I found myself shut off from their products. Seems the big corporation was also buying parts from them and when it came to keeping me or them, I lost. These OEM builders are not "retail" suppliers that would sell a neck to a private party, but MFGs that are setup to do business from company to company.

I am currently working on a giant "IMHO" page to go on my site that may be of interest. Since I find myself with limited time to respond to the information and mis-information batted about in regards to Nashguitars, I am trying to put answers and inputs to most of the questions and comments that come up. Once it is up, I will chime in with the link.

Some may find it to be too much info, but some will find some of the input very helpful.

In the meantime, I will read through more of the posts to make sure that I try and address any issues on this upcoming web-page.

I do have an FAQ page on my site, but it was not written with the intent of answering many questions that come up in the forums.

Yes they do. I had a Lefty J in not long ago and it was no upcharge.

Thanks the info. I really like what's written on the bottom of your homepage. One more reason to own one of your basses in a (I hope) near future ...

Hi and Happy New Year. As I mentioned before, I was going to put some of my feelings and answers in a spot on the site. Keep in mind when reading that the tone is much more "jovial-wise ass" than "opinionated jerk".

Very Nice Mr. Nash but one critique, the white text on a black background is a little harsh on the eyes.

But I believe in 100% of what you said. Especially the Eggplant part. That gets me the most. :)

Right on Bill!

Your explanation on paint and lacquer thickness certainly bears out in my JB 63. The thing that struck me when, I first played it, was it resonated noticeably for a bolt on neck.

Living in Manhattan, I have the opportunity to see and play museum quality 60's Fender Jazz basses as well as modern production versions. My JB 63 is closer in execution and feel of the 60's basses than even the best custom shops. It is not exact, but as you explain, you are not striving for exact replicas.

yeah...he uses legit fender parts, but he cant put "fender" on it b/c..well..its not. ha. but the neck, and body are basically fender parts. minus one part...the painted logo on the head. i can deal w/out that. its cool getting so many people saying "what kind of bass is that" once they see it doesnt say fender all over it. and to my knowledge most nash guitars either have lollar or fralin pickps. sound amazing.

I just got a Nash 63 Jazz. holy crap....this thing is amazing. It has the dimarzio pickups and is burgundy mist with a red tort guard and a high level of relic to it.

I took this to a church gig on sunday and wow, does thing nail that jazz tone.

I sold a brand new Warrior for this and I will never ever regret it.

yeah I just bought one. I gotta say its not exactly a fender but if I wanted an exact fender 63 P bass I'd buy one. I love the look I love the way it plays and to me it plays like a 1700 dollar bass. actually it plays better. I like it better then some sadowsky's I've owned. So I bought it and I'm going to have brian build and active J and then I'll pretty much be good on basses. I say if it plays great its worth the money. Who cares about where it came from. I'll play a balsa wood bass if it rocks my world
