I tried a Nash P last night, it was alright, but honesty it didn't really grab me like I thought it would... paint looked cool though.

Bill Nash Bass Info

I think what Roger Sadowsky had to say speaks volumes, and Bill Nash's comments seemed genuine and informative. I played one of his P's two days ago in Denver. I was just amazing! I own an 83 jazz a 77 Rick and a nice fretless and this was a great bass. I've been looking to replace my 71 P since it was stolen from a gig in SF in the early 80's and one of his may be the one.
Did a search and didn't really find what I was looking for, so I was wondering if anyone here knows what the necks and bodies on the Nash Fender copies are. I keep hearing that they are "parts" basses, but I was originally under the impression that they were built by Nash...
Just wondering, because I would hate to pay $1600+ for an Allparts or Warmoth bass I could build myself for under a grand. The Low End couldn't answer this either, so I was hoping there were some Nash owners on this board that would be more willing to provide info

Go to Bill's site and read what he said. He admits that he is a parts builder, but that is not bad thing. Sadowsky. He does not make his necks or bodies either. With Nash, you are getting a TON of experience and super nice instrument. Being a "parts" builder is not a bad thing at all, especially when you have someone who has the experience and background of Bill. Everyone one of his basses I've played knocked me out.
I LOVE their necks and bodies. I would only go Warmoth if you want something exotic.

It's my number 1 bass and to be honest, I don't care WHERE the parts come.

Hi All this is my first posting on Bass Talk.My name is Rich and I live in the UK,bought my Bill Nash j63 a few months ago ,have a few CS Jazz basses the past, but have say this Bass is by far the best and biggest sound yet,it felt a little different on first gig,but Hey would not sell it for the world.Cheers All Rich
