Billy Sheehan parts ways with Ampeg?

That's what I thought,,,,,and I call him "Stan" because that was his chosen moniker before having his brain seized by L Ron Hubbard's pirates. If Billy is lucky, like Stan, this sale is the first step taking his life (and his music) back.
My POD came in the mail today! (I'm only 50 or 60 miles from North Hollywood, where the seller is.)
There is just one problem.
The word "Letter" is misspelled in the letter of authenticity, one digit on the serial number is off, and the date is a day off.
I contacted Billy, and I'm going to forward the message to the eBay seller when he sends me his email address. (I've only contacted him through eBay so far.)
I know that the POD is real, because I've talked to Billy himself.
I'm just guessing he got real busy or something when he did the letter. I'll see what he says about it.

Well done on getting the Pod! I was tempted to bid but with shipping to the UK and import tax it was too much for an original Pod Billy's or not!
Hope you enjoy it though buddy and mistake on the certificate or not that's definately Billy's sig on the Pod it's exactly the same as the back of my Attitude and I was there when he signed that

IF they make it like the pearce. I owned the ampeg bsp and a sheehan modded pearce G1. The pearce is so much better. No comparison. The bsp actually does get the distorted tone right but, the rest kind of sucked. Also, there was more variability with the pearce. Good clean tones too. If billy went with hartke, you won't see a preamp. He'll use their stock gear along side the pearce. I'd bet money on that.
man if that dude sold 5500 things with fake autographs he's good. it's not hard to fake an autograph at all. that letTter, serial #, and date seems too much. i was skeptical about that ebay gear too. i hope it is for your sake. billy sounds like billy through about any rig/bass. it's in the hands. met him once in '90 at a clinic. he was super polite and cool and hung out and talked for a lot longer than he had to. he walked in and said "i need to warm up" and that was enough for me. i'll NEVER be able to do what he does. billy's a monster. scientology is still ridiculous.

I don't know how much experience you have with Scientology, Jauqo, but it is nothing like purchasing a bass. My brother and his wife got involved in Scientology several years ago. As long as they had money to spend on the ridicules rituals, they were welcome in the group, but as soon as they ran out of cash, the Scientology community had no more use for them. Oh, btw, they were told to avoid the family, which is what they did for about two years. I took some time then to learn about Scientology. It is a cult that preys on people with psychological and emotional issues and takes advantage of those people to take their money. They are strongly advised to cut off communication and ties with anyone who is not in the Scientology community. I suggest you learn a little about L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology in general if you don't really know about them.

It is said by some, With God all things are possible. In that vein, who is to say Billy or other "Scientologists" are bad people for believing something you don't. You can't believe my first statement and hold animosity toward anyone because they disagree with your opinion of right. The statement With God all things are possible is either true or it isn't.

You can take any religion to extremes, I'm just not too crazy about the whole religion-is-good-as-long-as-it's-our-religion thing that's going on in this country.
Scientology is not a religion, though I agree with your point about religion. It is a cult. One of the best expose's out there, believe it or not, is the Southpark parody.
I don't have any animosity towards cult victims. That doesn't discount the cult portion of the problem though. Really take some time to learn about Scientology in particular before posting again.

I'm very aware of L Ron Hubbard, I read Dianetics in 1990. However I'm not trying to differentiate what Scientology is.
Your opinion, is that it is a cult and not a religion. My point is I try not to form an opinion on someone based upon second or third person discussions and definately not salacious cartoons out to benifit nothing but the pocket of television execs.
My last statement will be this, Billy Sheehan is an American and he has free right to believe Bugs Bunny invented the Bass if he so chooses. And if indeed Scientology is a cult, he being a Scientologist doesn't detract from his talent as a bassist, nor is it the topic of discussion that started here. Scientology in and of itself is irrelevant to the topic and the entirety of TalkBass.
Judge not.

I agree with you that Billy Sheehan can believe whatever he wants. I also read Dianetics. btw, and none of my information about Scientology comes from Southpark; I had my opinion about it long before watching... Would it be ok for me to judge that cancer is bad, or that drinking poison is bad? I'm not judging any particular person, but rather a destructive cult.
I'm for Americans being "free" to do whatever they like as they as they do not infringe upon or harm others. Unfortunately, Scientologists are preyers upon the weak and all about self. If that's your thing, then so be it. Ain't my thing. Hopefully there are many free-thinkers who aren't completely absorbed with self-aggrandizement. There are plenty of liars, cheats, thieves, propagandists, etc, and Scientology are a biggie. Just be warned and know who you are getting into bed with. I know it's trendy to poke fun at them, but the worry is warranted. If you want to exert your will for your own gain, then join them. You would probably enjoy the fellowship of certain other orders as well. You will go far, but you won't get out.
Guys. This doesn't belong here. Get back to the subject. Here, I'll start. If it's true about billy going to hartke, I'll bet that he uses one of the heads with a graphic eq.
