I'm having a muck 5 built right now. I'll let you know in January. I do have an Embrace which Brady made. It's fantastic. It's why I ordered a Muck.
cool. Are you getting a 32 scale from Muck? I just talked to him today and got all the specifics down and now just need to decide to pull the trigger on it. I think it won't be much difference from the Birdspngs. It doesn't seem like one inch over the whole length will be that noticeable. He said he can make it 22 frets and move the neck down some, which i am thinking i will do. He said he could string the B through the body or do all the strings through. What do you think? If you have any suggestions I would appreciate. When did he start? Hoping he is faster than Scott, hait waiting.
I have a piccolo bass in progress. Looks like it is close to completion. Scott really wanted to do a build similar to the original cortobass that started the company, and I really wanted a piccolo, so we met half way. I also have a fusion being built. The fusion will be blackwashed mahogany!

It's a Ken Armstrong soapbar made to Scott's specs, apparently there is also more "sledgehammer" like option (his words). I agreed to try this one out for awhile and let him know what I think, and if I don't like it, he'll swap something else in for me at no charge! How's that for customer service?
I can't say enough good things about Scott and the whole crew, this is my third Birdsong bass, and I'm already planning the next one. I've always wanted a tulip wood bass, ever since I saw these two....I'm just not sure what I want to do as far as 4/5/6 goes yet. Either way, I know I'm in for a long wait, because I remember from the last time I asked, finding chunks this big isn't easy.

My Corto fretless is a hog with ebony. My Mesquito is mesquite with ebony and my HY5 is walnut with ebony. All fretless. Sold the maple Corto and hog HY5 fretted basses.
Pictured the maple neck as light colored wood on this darker colored body and did not like it. Spent some time with Scott and came up with this option. The ebony board is an unmarked fretless. Its also warmer sounding and lighter than maple.
My upcoming Fusion is all mahogany with an ebony board. Scott recommended the ebony to bring back some of those brighter tones that were lost with the switch from maple to mahogany.
Just got off the phone with Scott, finalizing the shipment of the six. I can't say it enough, the guy is just a blast to talk to, every builder should offer customer service like this! I'm driving to Texas from Jersey to pick this one up when it's done, I gotta meet this dude.
My next build is now official, serial number 14BX-023. It will be a set neck Skyrider, it's our little tribute to Bernie Rico and the 70's BC Rich stuff we both love so much. Mahogany body with maple stringers, big fat maple neck with Cocobolo board, diamond shaped inlays, custom hipshot brass bridge, and dual cream Dimarzio P's.....we're even going to use some old school top hat knobs....yeah baby!! Kudos to Scott for letting me go crazy, although I think he's just as into it as I am.
