Birdsong Club Pt 2

Hello. Long time Birdsong user here. Not taken any proper portrait shots of my basses yet but seeing as I just welcomed a new SD Curlee into the house I think it's almost time to sort that out so u lot can drool over them and I can get myself a number finally.

However, whilst I summon the minerals to make that happen, I thought I'd pop up here to ask if any owners of any of the fretless models have encountered any issues swapping from the flats to tapes at all. I'm planning to restring my Embrace in a day or so with some nylon tapes but I've never done such a change before, hence my tentative exploration of the possible problems I may encounter. I have the Embrace 3 string prototype which is strung with tapes and it sounds amazing, so I want to see what the real thing sounds like with them on.

On a side note, would u folks consider the new Curlees to be part of the Birdsong family?

This is the coolest birdsong I have ever seen!!!! Love the Logo, the diamond inlays, everything. Congrats!

Its been a while since I have been here due to some serious health issues....but i am back and glad to see so many Birdsong lovers here...
I am member #1(CTBass&Birdsong) here is a old web page of mine.. Link Removed . I am starting 2015 off right with another Birdsong...The Especial #2 I am excited and pics will be on Birdsongs site as it is born .

14F-14x (Scott kept the 2014 serial number on it) aka "Rusty" - shipping to me next week. Not counting Richard the Test Bass, this is my first new Birdsong in almost 8 years.

I just saw this on Facebook yesterday and commented on how much I love this bass and it's simplicity with the single volume control..very nice !!

That "simple" volume control only on a Birdsong is not quite as simple as it might appear! My re-bodied single pup Cortobass with volume control only is just amazing!
There is some unusual circuitry in there, the control is not quite "straight out". With the volume full on, tone is sharp and growly, but back it off just a smudge, and I get an old time Blues/Rock thump without touching the EQ on my amp!

ctBassNbirdsong, glad to see you back! And getting an Especial ! When I saw that Scott was offering that configuration in a new model, I started wondering if I might have been a part of the impetus in launching it as a regular model!

I was just thinking about this as I was playing my Corto this morning. Backing the volume off to about 75% on both pickups, and then bumping the bridge pickup up a smidge is HEAVEN. It's this big, deep sound that I can't achieve with either pickup full up. I have a few Birdsongs, but the original Cortobass pickup arrangement is still my favorite.

I'm GASing bad for an Especial, I think I'm going to have to sell my six and pull the trigger. But I also want a Zebrawood Skyrider to match my Corto...ah decisions.....first world problems.
