I'll join up. I got my Birdsong Hy5 earlier this year and I LOVE IT! Sounds rich, plays easy, feels balanced and relatively lightweight. Mahagony body, but painted pure white (yes, Scott resisted at first but eventually gave in). Come hear it (if you live in San Diego county). I play the casinos and bars.

It is at the 12th Fret getting new strings and check the intonation (I am too cowardly to do that as I am afraid I will just screw it up and we are about to hot the studio to do our first recording) and I am playing my old basses...) With the exception of my Epi Viola, I hate playing on the old ones... The Birdsong has spoiled me...
