There’s actually sort of a clue in Beavis and Butthead Do America. First off, you can tell he’s a real life AC/DC fan because the only song of theirs on the soundtrack is Gone Shootin, a very deep cut from Powerage. Powerage is notable for being Cliff Williams’ first album with the band, and I feel like there’s a lot of his individual personality before he had really worked into his spot.
If you ever wondered why Cliff got the job, though, Gone Shootin should explain it. When they get to the lead break, he lays down some Duck Dunn level groove IMO.
