Double Bass Blast cult

It just had to mention the deuce bridge. I feel like I’m the only person that doesn’t like that thing. LOL!!
You are far from alone. Fortunately, it is only people to don't have one who don't like them. Never heard bad things from anyone who uses one, so far!

Here is the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] on their website (includes contact information). Well done!!!
Things will be evolving over the course of the next year. Please don't expect everything to change, overnight. I am still super busy with my own clients and lutherie, but major progress is happening, and ongoing! Eventually, the website will be reorganized between guitars and the new basses, and it will all make much more sense. Lots of things happening, but it is one challenge at a time! Presently, we are finishing the last of the outstanding orders, and I am also making new parts for new basses that feature design changes, and different construction techniques, but getting all old orders filled and happy is the priority, at this moment.

I’d like to try one at some point. Got one a few years back but my local luthier refuses to install it!
One of these days I gotta have you give my BC a good tweaking

I’ll admit it’s purely an asthetic thing....

And asthetics do count. On my bass, the Deuce bridge and Deuce tailpiece are the same gold powder coat color and together they produce sort of a steam-punk visual effect which really goes quite well with the whole Picasso/Salvador Dali decor of my silver powder-coated Alcoa.

Somehow I don't think these parts would go over quite as well with a fine vintage fully-carved Italian or German double bass.

That said, I don't have any doubt that @Red Brown could innovate a more traditional looking double bass bridge that incorporates all of the same features as the current Deuce bridge (hint-hint ;)).

Doing things right takes time. I'm in no rush :-)

Refuses to install It? It is easier than a wooden one to install..

Apparently not. I had a luthier, more or less, say the same thing to me.

I told him to forget it and make me a traditional wooden bridge. Which turned out just fine, he did good work. But next time, although I'd rather pay someone, I might find something in one of my sixteen toolboxes to help me dyi the Duece bridge.

It is way easier and more forgiving than a wood one to install. Any luthier who would find it difficult probably is not a good guy to go to anyway. Having installed hundreds of wooden bridges, and many Deuces, I speak from experience. It is meant to be a pretty easy dyi operation, and if you need guidance, just ask me. I would avoid anyone who would not do it because it is hard, or for some bs reason that it is weird. Most likely not very skilled, or pleasant, or possibly both!

I just wish I could have one...... If you DO have one, enjoy it, for me, please !!!
I will be offering more for sale, as soon as the last six ship, which will be any day, now. I have fallen a little behind on my first six orders but they are almost out the door!

Let me put my 5 cents in
I do own Jason Burns king bass and I find it usable for all kinds of work including jazz and rockabilly
Of course I did not pay $4500 for it,I bought it from some dude who could not play the bass in the case real cheap(under $1400)basically new with flame paint job
It’s decent for its price and nice slim neck with balanced no buzz fretboard
Good tone for jazz and rockabilly
You can build this bass by using various parts or even old basses
Kay and Engelhardt sounds the same
Bottom line is ,do not pay over $2000 for any laminated bass

Or pay whatever you want for whatever you like :)

When I was with KDB, I had 3 different slap kings, toured with a Road King and had a full custom bass made. Then when they switched over to Blast Cult, I got a 145. There’s no comparison. The BC’s are at a different level and I have no doubt that Jason Brown will take em up another level still. They are not inexpensive for sure, but until you’ve toured with one, I wouldn’t presume to know their value.
