Yes he did. He played on everything up until No More Tears, even though he wasn't credited for some of them.

For anybody curious, Amazon's Blizzard Of Ozz page has previews from the remaster. They're short bad quality sound clips, but you can really hear it on the first two tracks.

There was a good vid on Youtube comparing the two versions, but it seems to have been taken down. :scowl:

More love for Bob here!
I purchased Blizzard a full year before it was available here in North America... it was released in Britan on Jet records and I had it imported here to Canada.
Different back cover to the LP, better pressing of the disc, but one of my favorite hard rock albums... funny as I recall, I have that LP signed by Ozzy! He was playing my home town and a buddy was working at the music store Ozzy was signing autographs in... Ozzy did not look very good!
Was lucky enough to catch the concert that night and yes, I got to see Randy Rhoades and actually peeled off three rolls of film at the show.
I have some unbelievable pics of Randy, Ozzy, Tommy Aldridge and Rudy.

You suck. Randy died 2 days before his show in Miami of which I had good seats and 3 months of party materials prepared. All for naught!

kicking this off again.listened to diary of a madman for the 1st time in a long time and was amazed all over again at bob and lee's drums and bass lines,every song begining to end is so melodic and creative,you just dont hear that style of playing anymore!I too have boycotted ozzy and sharon for their treatment of bob and lee,what a crappy thing to do.

I love daisleys work on the first 3 ozzy albums, hes pure genius. Along with making these great melodic basslines, he helped randy write some of the most classic tunes ever. He used a P to record most of his stuff no?

I say Blizzard of Ozz play way back in 1982 ish? at the edmonton kinsmen fieldhouse - wow crappy venue which held maybe 3000 people. Motorhead opened for them lol. Bob's story which I just read about makes me sad. To screw around with classic albums like that is :spit:. And he used a gibson bass wow. Never knew that.

Bob Daisley has always been on of my favorites. The rhythm section on Blizzard and Diary is absolutely amazing. Well, the whole albums are amazing. But he was so unique among bassists in the metal genre. And listen to all of the distortion on his bass in the soloed track! It sounds so good in the mix too. I was such a major Ozzy head growing up (I'm 35, so I missed both Randy and Jake in the band, I bought No rest for the Wicked the day it came out when I was a freshman in high school), and Bob Daisley was my first big bass influence. Good ot see a thread about him here. I know he still plays a lot in Europe and Australia. my friend interviewed him for an internet radio show a few years ago and he seems like a really nice guy.

I'm so glad Bob's getting kudos here!! He's definitely my main man (and one hell of a nice guy!). Honestly, he could be the most underrated rock bassist of all time. He has great tone, and his lines are incredible...so melodic with creative fills. I remember hearing Blizzard when it was first released, and was blown away. That album is timeless. You have to remember, back in 1980, there was nothing quite like it. Bob, Randy and Lee had amazing chemistry. You couldn't make classics like that without it. Ozzy should be bowing to those guys because they made HIM...not vice-versa. When they were writing and recording, I read in an interview with Bob that Ozzy was rarely around. When he'd show up, the songs would be done, and apparently Lee would show Ozzy what to sing. Bob's catalogue of work is impressive. I'd recommend any newbie to find as much of his material and listen to it intently. That would certainly give them a great starting point.

On Blizzard, Bob used a Gibson bass thru one of Randy's 100w Marshalls (with a 4x12 cab, I believe). on Diary, he used a vintage Precision thru an Ampeg SVT and 8x10 cab.

Bob Daisley is one of my favorite bass players. I was all set to buy a bunch of early Ozzy next time I felt the need to blow a wad of money on Amazon, but I think I'll take a pass.

I bet the pre-remaster CD's are destined to become collectors' items, if they're not already. I'd love to be able to get my hands on a copy each.

I am now officially an ex-Ozzy fan.
